Great Build Quality and Battery Life
Pros: - The first thing I noticed out of the box is that this laptop feels great in the hand. It has an all metal body and the weight is just right. - The i7 10710u is more than capable. I previously had a laptop with an H series processor (45W TDP) and was worried this 15W processor might not have the horse power. I was wrong, this laptop is fast! From the numbers perspective, this chip is about 10% slower than the i7 9750H in most benchmarks, but uses 3 times less power. That's a win in my book. - The screen is great (I got the 1080p version). I was debating between the 4k and 1080p, but in the end I personally wanted the best battery life possible, so I chose the 1080p and do not regret it. The screen looks perfectly fine. - The battery life is amazing (Using the MSI Creator Center settings). As with any Windows device I purchase from an OEM as opposed to build myself, I always wipe my device with a fresh install of Windows and reinstall the bare minimum drivers. But in this case, MSI did a great job with their Creator Center. It's not buggy, and I literally double my battery life by customizing the settings. - Dual Thunderbolt 3 ports. Plus it only charges over Thunderbolt 3 and doesn't use a proprietary charger. - Dual M.2 2280 ports for expanded NVMe SSD sotrage - Upgradable SODIMM RAM - Great laptop for the price.
Cons: - When using the laptop, I have an issue where if I rest my palms on the area infront of the keyboard (to the right or left of the trackpad), the body sinks down a little bit and causes the trackpad to stop working correctly. For me, it's not a deal breaker as I can just put a little less weight on my palms, but still something to bring up and means I can't fully rest my palms on the laptop in the future.
Overall Review: - Overall, I would recommend this laptop. Great build, works well, and has a fair price.
Beautiful Monitor For The Price!
Pros: -The image is crisp, colors are accurate, and the overall design of this monitor is well done -Supports native 75 Hz (in Windows or MacOS) -(On sale) for $220, this monitor has an unbelievable quality/price ratio. -It has speakers! (I'm coming from LG monitors, which rarely do) -The stand is significantly improved from its predecessor, the K2 Series K272HUL
Cons: -I guess the speakers could be nicer (they are flat and relatively quiet), but having them at all beats many 2k/4k monitors -None others, this monitor rocks!
Overall Review: I own this monitor and the Acer K2 Series K272HUL, another 2K 27" monitor that is well regarded on Newegg. From my perspective, they seem like they have same panel, but the CB271HU (this model) is the updated version. The biggest difference is the stand. Both models are VESA mountable, but this model's stand is a taller and more robust. Other than that and a change in the Acer logo and maybe some minor firmware updates, both monitors seem to be about the same. I would recommend either model, the K272HUL or CB271HU. If you already use a VESA stand, pick whichever is less expensive.
Great Motherboard With Many Features; Bios is Good but not Great
Pros: - Great 12+2 power phase design with rock solid cooling (unlike the Gigabyte Z370 Gaming 7) - Many features. I love that it has 10-gigabit ethernet - 3 m2. ports - USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 2 Front Header - 3x USB 2.0 and 2x USB 3.0 internal headers - Audio sounds great - Easy memory overclocking with a switch on the board - Bios is stable
Cons: - The bios could be easier to use. Definitely not as intuitive as ASUS, but it runs stable (and that's most important). - Doesn't come with an M.2 shield (heatsink) which many competitors do so at lower price points.
Overall Review: - I would recommend this board to anyone who wants a balance between the $500 MSI Godlike Gaming and lower end motherboards. It is pretty similar to the Gigabyte Z370 Gaming 7, but it has a few more features and better cooled, more capable power phase design. I have not experienced any defects or "problems" that other Newegg reviewers have, and I think this is one of the best Z370 motherboards for the features without spending over $300.
