EVGA GeForce 7300GT 512MB GDDR2 AGP 4X/8X Video Card 512-A8-N501-LR
EVGA GeForce 7300GT 512MB GDDR2 AGP 4X/8X Video Card 512-A8-N501-LR

Pros: New life for my byzantine machine. It runs quake 4 and related games just fine. Install was relatively simple. Fan is quiet (or at least it is in comparison to the dual 120 case fans that roar beastially beneath my desk). It doesn't seem to get unreasonably hot or anything. Shipping was good, as always with newegg.

Cons: None really. It is what it's supposed to be.

Overall Review: I bought too much card for my purposes. The computer that this card will live in is an old machine of mine that I am about to hand off to a friend so they can play WoW. I used to use that machine almost exclusively for that purpose with a 1/2 gig of memory and an old geforce 2, and the difference between the old card and memory and the new stuff (this card and a gig stick of ddr) isn't all that noticeable. True, it's better, but it's like upgrading from a nickel to a dime- you might be able to buy ten gumballs instead of five, but gumballs seem to be gumballs, at least in the case of WoW. So if you wanna play Doom 3 or Quake 4 and enjoy it, then buy this card. But if all you wanna do is play warcraft, then you don't need this much card IMHO.

SONIC HP-259 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Stereo Headset
SONIC HP-259 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Stereo Headset

Pros: price. reasonably comfortable for long hours of gaming. They look alright.

Cons: They don't work.

Overall Review: I bought two of these as an afterthought the last time I bought hardware upgrades. The mics went out on both within the first few days, the right speaker on one set went out the next day, and both speakers died on the other set the day after. I mean yeah, at ten dollars they were inexpensive, but it could also be argued that setting ten dollars on fire is inexpensive too. I'm kinda wishing I had just set the money on fire.

I like 'em

Rosewill RFA120-K Case Fan
Rosewill RFA120-K Case Fan

Pros: Looks cool. No leds. Some reviews say there is no 3 pin connector but mine have a 3 pin and a 4 pin "through" connector. Not overly loud. Moves plenty of air if you ask me. Keeps my SLI rig cool anyway. Very satisfied.

Cons: The cord could be longer. It's only about six inches long. Not really a problem for me, but I can imagine how this could present a quandry for some.

Overall Review: I bought three of these as part of my latest case mod when I went SLI. One in the front intake, another blowing on the video cards, and an exhaust in the top. The airflow is impressive. If you work in an office that's as silent as a tomb you would detest my machine, but if you're used to gaming rigs and big fans you won't see a problem IMHO. The noise of my two old LED 120mm Apevias would easily drown out the three of these.

It's alright

World of Warcraft: Battle Chest PC Game
World of Warcraft: Battle Chest PC Game

Pros: For what you get the price is right. Free books are always cool.

Cons: None really. It is what it's supposed to be. The books are free because no sane person would pay money for them, but hey, they're free, so who cares?

Overall Review: It's about time blizz did this. With WotLK coming out it would be hard to convince new players to buy all three for forty smackers each. Good for people just starting out, or for people who want backup discs in a shiny box. Also, if you bundle this with a game card you've got a nice gift for a friend of yours who you want to plague with a savage addiction to a MMORPG.
