Pros: Memory works as advertised in three Lenovo laptops (T400, T410, T500). Nice to have 8GB of memory in each machine. Patriot Customer Service and RMA departments worked quickly to resolve issues with original shipment.

Cons: Ordered 3 sets of memory (for 3 machines), on the November 19 sale. Unfortunately, Newegg shipped the memory modules in a padded envelope instead of a box. Turns out that all 3 sets had one functional and one defective SO-DIMM, indicating that the memory was damaged in shipment - that a padded envelope is not enough protection for the memory. Patriot customer service stepped up and replaced the modules without question. They shipped the replacements in a box, and it is these replacements that are receiving the 5-star review. In fairness, this is the first time I've had an issue with the means Newegg used for shipping.

Overall Review: I would only order the memory if also ordering other products so that there would be higher odds of Newegg shipping it in a box.

Pros: Price for the storage

Cons: Bought the device to help migrate to a new machine. Have been diligent about making sure Windows 7 says the device can be removed before I pull it out of the USB slot to prevent file system corruption from pulling it while cached writes are being written. Within a matter of a couple of days, Windows started reporting I/O errors on the drive, finally reaching a point where Windows could not read from or write to the device. A full reformat failed. A quick format succeeded, but it makes me nervous when the operating system can't fully format the drive. Personally, I would shy away from this device.
