Superb MATX option5/28/2019 12:01:38 PM

Pros: 64 gigabyte DRAM maximum will carry you a ways. Only needed one pair for 16gig, but nice to have an easy upgrade later. No compatibility issues with any memory I've used in any MSI motherboard, including this one. Integrated video worked from boot one with a Ryzen 2400G, 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz through HDMI works flawlessly in Ubuntu with no drivers needed. Fragile PCB has been addressed and is non-existent for V2, plugged in the PSU connector to installed board just fine. B450 chipset has a lot of OC options, and the BIOS is partially UEFI as well. Plenty of fan headers for this size of build.

Cons: Can't turn off white LED strips through BIOS. Hadn't looked into the MSI proprietary software yet, though not hopeful... The M.2 is under the PCI-E 3.0 x16, this could cause heating issues with some of the faster NVMe drives if you use a dedicated card.

Overall Review: Used this for a science-based image processing workstation. Despite the gamer roots, you'll find a no frills, stable, powerful and upgrade friendly (for matx) motherboard.

True simplicity is beautiful5/24/2019 9:29:38 AM

Pros: Everything fits nice physically. The board is thin enough that the I/O shield was able to stay in place when lowering it onto the standoffs in a very narrow space. Installed a Noctua NH-U9S cpu cooler with no problems and the wide brackets had plenty of room around the cpu socket. M.2 slot is raised above and away from the video card and exposed to nice airflow if you have a side panel case fan. Running two 120mm and three 92mm fans (including the push/pull combo on my processor) using two splitters, all PWM. The click bios is powerful (with UEFI option) after you turn on advanced mode and it was easy to setup my memory in an XMP profile at 3200Mhz. I like the built in fan controls (upgrading from a 970A with software controls in win7). Also has a button for "turbo" mode that overclocks the CPU by 450Mhz, although this seems kind of redundant with the Ryzen master utility nowadays.

Cons: The only thing I could think of is that it only has two RAM slots, but I won't need more than the 16Gb I put in for a long time.

Overall Review: Installed this with a Ryzen 5 2600 and Sapphire Pulse RX570 (which seems sturdy in place with the reinforced PCI-E slot) and dual channel G.Skill FlareX cl16, in a Fractal Core1100 case.

Outstanding VA panel.8/8/2018 8:59:30 AM

Pros: Runs at 144hz refresh rate without a hiccup, connected with displayport. Colors are good, solid contrast and brightness settings from the factory. Thin frame enhances the immersion effect of the curved screen. Sturdy aluminum stand keeps the monitor stable. Stand-by light is a constant dim orange, not a strobe light. Included cables; 1x HDMI, 1x DP, 1x USB, 1x power, and also a sticker if you want. Headphone hangar, I actually use it. VESA mountable.

Cons: The curved surface catches light at wider angles from behind, causing more glare than I'm used to. This is minor considering the anti-glare surface, nothing a desk lamp can't solve in any case. HDMI 1.4, 1080@120hz max.

Overall Review: This is quite a step up from my previous monitor that had 60hz/5ms and no curve or freesync. Movement on screen is very sharp and defined. More demanding games that were a little choppy on my RX560 before seem smoothed out somewhat thanks to freesync mitigating tears. The curvature makes all games very immersive and seem more fluid, it really makes a difference while simply web browsing/word processing too. Viewing in general is less of a strain on the eyes. I would highly recommend this display not only for the price, MSI has created another top quality product.

One memory slot. Practically no storage options.7/30/2018 3:07:49 PM

Pros: It works. Decent screen.

Cons: Stuck with the single M.2 slot for a storage upgrade. Battery is only accessible by removing the entire back casing. Only one RAM slot. Abhorrent customer service.

Overall Review: I tried unsuccessfully to get the cable for the HDD bay from Acer. The first kit they sent was just a caddy. The second kit had the cable but it wasn't long enough. They said this is the only cable for my model and offered to send an installation pamphlet. I guess they didn't believe me when I said it doesn't reach, and also would have to twist 180 degrees to connect to the mainboard. It's not the correct part. I read in the Q&A that they have a long version of the cable but that's probably out of date now and I was fed up after four calls and three weeks wasted on the incorrect kits anyway. It would have been three calls but I was left on hold for so long on the third that I had to call back to make sure something wasn't wrong with the dead silent line. After that I brought it down to a PC shop and they said they could order a cable long enough. This didn't work either, HDD is not showing up. I finally give up trying to utilize this storage bay after three weeks of shipping parts and receiving incorrect kits from Acer. It's obvious this unit was never intended to be upgraded; disposable machines. I will never buy Acer again.

1st time Corsair buyer, now hooked!7/10/2018 12:25:00 PM

Pros: Moves a little air or a lot of air. No louder at full speed than any other high rpm fan I've heard. Generous cables.

Cons: The non led version has grey fan blades. They look white in the picture to me.

Overall Review: Ordered four of these. Two to replace the whining stock fans on my CPU cooler and two for my front intakes. The heatsink fans have no problem keeping my processor under 58C at load, but also stay quiet at 42C-43C when idle. The intakes are plugged into the fanconnect port on my video card and I have those set to run from 60-90% depending on the GPU temp. Case temps while everything is going are significantly improved over my old fans. PWM fans are also a blessing on my ears whereas with the DC fans I either had 100% noise all the time or not enough airflow while at full processing load. I even dropped one of the fans from a height of about a foot onto the table while installing, it seems to be working normally so far. Very easy to setup a fan profile with my chipset/video card software.

Would buy again.5/1/2018 12:23:23 PM

Pros: Great solidly built bag with lots of room for cables and a pocket for a portable dvd player. Kind of a slim fit for my 16.67" wide laptop though. The main sleeve will probably be the first place to show wear, but also holds it in place I suppose. Be careful with the plastic snaps! Caught my thumb in one hard enough to make it bleed. But again, shows how sturdy this thing is, those snaps aren't coming unsnapped. Shipped in three days with the free option.

Cons: None
