Pros: Provides control of Win 7 Media Center. Also provides functionality equivalent to that of a two-button mouse. Perfect for HTPC.

Cons: Moving the pointer is somewhat cumbersome. Cannot re-program power button to turn TV on and off.

Overall Review: I got this remote to control an HTPC running Win 7 Media Center that is driving a 720p TV. I've been very happy. The remote has the green start button and several other shortcut keys corresponding to the WMC TV sub-menu. Works great with the Netflix built-in WMC plug-in and with the Media Browser WMC plug-in. The remote contains a rocker pad for controlling mouse pointer movement and separate buttons to control the left mouse and right mouse buttons. For programs that are not optimized for use in the WMC environment, the ability to invoke the mouse cursor and force the issue is invaluable. The rocker pad is a functional but inefficient way to control the pointer. Don’t plan to use it to play mouse-centered games. Rather, this set-up is most effective to make the few clicks necessary to start an application that is not mouse-centric. I find the rocker pad adequate to open a web browser for the purpose of reading the paper or watching The Colbert Report on its native web site. For serious configuration tasks or web browsing, including anything that requires typing, I keep a wireless keyboard with built-in track pad handy. Not having to get up and find the keyboard when I only need a click or two is the beauty of this device. My only complaint is that the remote is not natively programmable, such that I cannot program the power button to turn the TV on and off rather than the HTPC. If you use the TV’s built-in speaker(s), you will run into the same problem with the volume buttons. This makes it necessary to keep the TV’s native remote around. One egg off for these rough edges, but what you get in return is the mouse function, which many other remotes lack.
