PNY GeForce GT 240 512MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Graphics Card VCGGT2405G5XEB
PNY GeForce GT 240 512MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Graphics Card VCGGT2405G5XEB

Pros: The card gave an even higher increase in performance than i expected. For the price, it is a very good card. It also requires little power when compared to other mid range cards. I only have a 350 watt psu which is another reason i bought the card since many newer cards require a minimum of 400 watts.

Cons: None so far that i know of. I see frequent grahical tearing in mirror's edge even with some anti aliasing enabled, but i cant say for sure one way or another that its the card..although..what else could it be. on all other games it gives a much improved performance over my last card which was an 8600gt. As far as cons go, I hope none develop in the near future since i have only owned the card for a short time.

Overall Review: I'm not gonna sit here and tell you how im playing WoW or *^%)*^%$ counter strike on max settings or some nonsense. Playing unreal tournament 3 on level 5 details on all slider bars ( not all the check boxes enabled mind you) 1280x1024 which is native resolution on my monitor. similar settings on mirror's edge, last remnant, team fortress 2, mass effect 2, dragon age origins, good performance on oblivion, burnout paradise, resident evil 5 direct x 9 version max settings. Keep in mind i have an old single core processor and this card is still able to increase performance enough to get on average 30 - 60 fps on all the games mentioned above with high if not max settings. If one has a dual core cpu or higher, this card should run any game at max settings..probably not including max physics detail, max AA and so on..but max detail, HDR, etc should be great ..50fps minimum. The card isn't legendary, but for 60 dollars(what i paid at the time) perhaps it is legendary after all.

wish it came with a DVI to VGA adapter..o well

XFX GeForce 9800 GT 512MB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card PVT98GYAF3
XFX GeForce 9800 GT 512MB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card PVT98GYAF3

Pros: i'm sure the card will be a good upgrade when i get to use it.

Cons: the only thing that i didn't find too helpful is that the video card came with no adapter of any kind for older monitors. I only say this as a negative since every other card I have ever bought low end or higher has come with some sort of adapter such as DVI-VGA. I know it clearly shows in the pictures that it doesn't come with one but i think it would be a whole lot better if it did since I now had to track one down making the whole upgrade process take somewhat longer.

Overall Review: upgraded from a 8600gt 256mb 128 bit interface. that card got me by since the end of 2007. that old 8600gt only had 32 or so stream processors where this one has almost 4x that amount. I expect this to be a pretty decent upgrade from that card....once i get the chance to use it.
