great little board

ASRock QC5000-ITX/WiFi AMD FT3 Kabini A4-5000 Quad-Core APU Mini ITX Motherboard / CPU / VGA Combo
ASRock QC5000-ITX/WiFi AMD FT3 Kabini A4-5000 Quad-Core APU Mini ITX Motherboard / CPU / VGA Combo

Pros: mini-pcie slot for wifi small and fast enough for my needs YMMV Running Debian "Jessie" Linux on it.

Cons: The displayport and DVI are shared ports. You have to select one or the other to be active in the bios. I was really dissapointed in this, but I guess not enough to knock off an egg. The HDMI and VGA are dedicated separate ports though. Board is a little finicky with USB stuff. A USB bluetooth adapter I have that works fine on other systems, causes this one to not boot (the bios won't finish posting, if the dongle is plugged in when the system is started up).

Overall Review: Replaced wifi with Atheros card for better free software support. Also added a second antenna with the new card (the motherboard back plate has a punchout for a second antenna. The HD 8330 built-in graphics requires bleading edge xorg stuff to work with the free driver. Installed xserver-xorg-core and xserver-xorg-video-radeon from Debian Experimental, (it did not need to pull in any scary dependencies from experimental). Video works great now.

good card

Visiontek Radeon HD 7750 2GB GDDR5 6M (6 x Mini DP), 900614
Visiontek Radeon HD 7750 2GB GDDR5 6M (6 x Mini DP), 900614

Pros: 6 monitors on one card! Working great with Debian "Jessie" linux + e17 but... see cons. Currently running 3 monitors at my sit station and 3 mirrors of those monitors at my standing station for 6 total. Two monitors at each station are rotated to provide more vertical space. Also ran 5 in a long row with three rotated. And, tried a layout with some horizontally oriented monitors above other horizontally oriented monitors. All layouts worked fine with the card. I mention this because another reviewer said he had trouble with any layout but 3 on top and 3 below, but maybe that was a Windows issue he was having.

Cons: Had to run the binary blob fglx driver to get this card to work properly. Hopefully the free radeon driver will work in the future. With the free driver, rotation did not work properly among other issues.

Overall Review: All the modern monitors I've connected to the card have worked fine with every display port adapter I tried. But, I have two older NEC monitors that would not work at all with the card with 4 different brands of displayport to dvi or vga adapters. They work with some no-brand Chinese displayport to vga adapter though. So, if issues, try swapping your adapters (a bunch of times), you might find one that works.

Works fine with AMD C-60 board

CORSAIR XMS 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1333 Desktop Memory Model CMX16GX3M2A1333C9
CORSAIR XMS 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1333 Desktop Memory Model CMX16GX3M2A1333C9

Pros: Works fine, decent price.

Cons: none

Overall Review: Using with a fanless AMD-C60 mini-itx board (ASUS C60M1-I AMD) that claims to only support 8GB, but works fine with these sticks for 16GB RAM.

Works fine with 16GB RAM

ASUS C60M1-I AMD Fusion APU C-60 (1.0 GHz, dual core) AMD Hudson M1 Mini ITX Motherboard / CPU Combo
ASUS C60M1-I AMD Fusion APU C-60 (1.0 GHz, dual core) AMD Hudson M1 Mini ITX Motherboard / CPU Combo

Pros: 16 GB RAM works fine, in spite of the claim that it only supports 8 GB Silent Supposed to be pretty low power - haven't tested with killawatt yet. Fast enough

Cons: Even though a low-power board, it requires the 4 pin motherboard power connector which compact power supplies like the PicoPSU do not provide-- see other thoughts.

Overall Review: Requires 4 pin motherboard power connector to boot. If using PicoPSU, you will need to buy a molex to motherboard 4 pin adapter. Running 2x8GB sticks of RAM that Newegg had on sale at same time that I bought the board Corsair XMS Model: CMX16GX3M2A1333C9 - works great. Linux is happy, memtest is happy, I am happy (this box netboots, so lots of cache is very nice). For you folks running ZFS, 16GB will definitely be a plus (esp. if running dedupe).

Happy in my acer ao722 netbook

Patriot Signature 8GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Laptop Memory Model PSD38G13332S
Patriot Signature 8GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Laptop Memory Model PSD38G13332S

Pros: Even super saver shipping was overnight :) Works great in my "beastly" little Acer aspire Ao722 netbook. This is the one with the AMD C-50 processor. cat /proc/meminfo MemTotal: 7908480 kB :)

Cons: none

Overall Review: Was going to solder in a another socket into netbook (pads are there), but this was easier path. I run linux on it which works fine with / uses all of the memory. No idea if windows is crippled so it cannot see all the mem, but at least I can tell you the hardware works fine with this 8GB dimm. Also, no bios update was needed.
