Smooth, Stable.
Pros: WinXP64 is an excellent choice, folks. Stable, secure, smooth, and a little quicker than standard XP... Locating appropriate drivers/programs for a few peripherals is a minor (an hour or so) detail only. Setup is very 'Windows-like', and is very smooth with a more recent (12-18 mo.) motherboard design which is more likely to include the 64-bit drivers for chipsets.... Doesn't consume resources like Vista (500MB ram is fine, but 1GB is noticeably better). Runs 32-bit applications (i.e. Firefox, AVG Antivrus) well, supported by JAVA, Flashplayer, etc...Definitely recommend.
Cons: 'May' need to find a few drivers - and may not if using more current hardware. Free ZoneAlarm edition 'No', and 64-bit firewall not availale
Overall Review: Microsoft keeps dragging us down a road that requires more of our $$$ to support their R&D... VISTA is a completely unnecessary and wasteful option when WinXP64 harnesses the best of XP AND a 64-bit architecture.
Truth to 173.6 watts...?
Pros: QUESTION... With the 2 cores unlocked, is there any truth to a problem with the 173.6 max watt readings shown on CPUID HW Monitor related to the processor power...?? Mine usually stays around 58w, but will jump to a max of 173.6w... and does this negatively impact the motherboard inany way....Otherwise the system is quite stable and temperatures are excellent. Thanks.
Cons: no
Overall Review: no
Great, Reliable Ram
Pros: Quick, very stable. 4GB runs smooth and can be overclocked to close to 900 MHz...
Cons: None, really.
Overall Review: With the Kingston name and lower latency, I'm not sure why any other ram would be purchased. Rock solid.
Superb
Pros: Board is well-built, very stable, numerous features, with great Bios. Install is straight-forward and easy...
Cons: None.
Overall Review: The box says/shows it is equipped with a USB 3.0 Boost - not sure that's true... Don't forget you may need to use the GIGABYTE drivers CD that comes with the package. Key Facts: AMD 64 x2 6000 Zerotherm B80 Kingston HyperX PC6400 Win 7 Professional
Smooth
Pros: AMD, Silky, Quick and with great future potential. Runs at 38C idle and 44C loaded with Zerotherm BTF80 cooler and Arctic Silver.
Cons: Really, None.
Overall Review: Nothing better for the price.
Handy, Works well
Pros: Both floppy, SD media seems to work well. Needs both USB (4-pin) & Floppy motherboard connections along with normal floppy power connection. Be sure a floppy round cable has 'red wires' in the device's middle to ensure the proper end is plugged into both mobo and drive...
Cons: Not at this time.
Overall Review: Can install with new OS/system build - just leave the USB connection undone until the OS is finished. A 'no-brainer' purchase.
