Good stuff...

Vantec EC-HK-3F Hard Disk / CD/DVD/CDRW Drive Cooler, for 5.25 bay. 3 fans
Vantec EC-HK-3F Hard Disk / CD/DVD/CDRW Drive Cooler, for 5.25 bay. 3 fans

Pros: The biggest pro over other coolers of it's kind is the filter...The filter is very thin and does a fantastic job keeping dirt/dust out of the case...But they need to be blown out every few months or so...I've had 2 of these on a Raptor RAID set for years and they are still going strong..

Cons: They aren't the prettiest...& They do make some noise when they fire up but quickly quite down...

Overall Review: So I was actually on here browsing for some updated hard drive coolers when I came across these...I didn't even realize they still sold these but I guess people must be as satisfied with them as I am...

ugh...

GIGABYTE GA-73PVM-S2H LGA 775 NVIDIA GeForce 7100 HDMI Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-73PVM-S2H LGA 775 NVIDIA GeForce 7100 HDMI Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Ummmm...Works...Not as advertised but it works...

Cons: The 7100 gpu is not fast enough to run blue ray smoothly and consistently...Which basically makes the HDMI out a total waste. I was a guinea pig on this one because manufactures website says it is but there are many other "real" reviews on the web that say otherwise. Now I know it is not...Already had everything installed so I coughed up another 40 bucks for a 2600pro...RAM is extremely limited, not only on options for compatibility but even if you buy one off of their list of like 30 compatible brands, 99% of the time it's going to run at DDR800 because vltg is limited to 1.8...I emailed the manufacture and they told me it's because it's a workstation board? I then asked them why you can overclock the CPU until it explodes but you're unable to give the RAM .2 volts so it can run at rated speeds? No response. What this means is that if your cpu has a FSB of 1066 your RAM will be running at 800...The speed difference between DDR800 and even 1066 is very noticeable...Trust me..

Overall Review: I would say if you're looking to build a workstation keep shopping because you can find one cheaper...If you're looking for a gaming PC or a HTPC the extremely limited upgrade ability and it's inability to play blu ray smoothly makes this a very poor option...So whatever your needs I'd recommend looking elsewhere...

Great....after some headaches

TP-Link TL-WR1043N 450 Mbps Wireless N Gigabit Router
TP-Link TL-WR1043N 450 Mbps Wireless N Gigabit Router

Pros: 300mbit rock solid with ddwrt decent range gigabit LAN price

Cons: Factory firmware is terrible Factory firmware is terrible Factory firmware is terrible Did I mention that the factory firmware is terrible?

Overall Review: Was starting to have all kinds of problems with this thing...Went from rebooting once a week to once a day to essential worthless with about 6 weeks...I did some research and flashed ddwrt firmware and it's been rock solid for 2 weeks...I never knew what "bad firmware" meant...Now I know... It took a bit of messing to get ddwrt to run at 300mbits...The big one is to set "Channel width = Turbo 40 MHz" under wireless/basic settings... I'm very happy with this router now...

Great with 1 issue

Microsoft Xbox 360 4 GB Black
Microsoft Xbox 360 4 GB Black

Pros: Very quite Fantastic customer support Extender for WMC Wireless N 300mbit

Cons: It's got a 100mbit ethernet port!!!!!!!!

Overall Review: I've got a HTPC running WMC in Windows 7 Home 64bit with the Ceton card with 4 tuners on the 50" plasma in the family room but wanted to get the single to another set...and share the DVR...Works great as an extender but I was really surprised when I got the whole thing hard wired to the gigabit router and I was getting so many connection issues...Luckily the internal wireless is 300mbit N...Seems like putting a gigabit adapter in this thing would of been a no brainer...I don't plan to game on it but I do plan to take all of my HD stb's back to Comcast...They're going to be so confused...Don't get me wrong...The 300mbit is running pretty rock solid...But hard wiring to the gigabit would of really been ideal...If you want it to be smooth...Hard wire the main PC as gigabit and get the wireless router as close to the extender sets as you can...This is my first gaming console in about 10 years...Funny I'm not using it as a gaming console...

No problems...

2nd Review...

ASUS P5P43TD LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS P5P43TD LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: I wrote the "Refreshingly Simple" review...Wanted to add my overclocking notes...

Cons: P43, socket 775, no raid or esata...

Overall Review: The review about setting RAM to 1066 got me thinking...I was clearly hitting a wall at about 2.8 on a q9300...The changes I made to get over the wall were to lower the FSB to NB strap to 333mhz...There's a 400 option in there but I got errors in Prime95...Max the vltg on the nb = 1.25 max the voltage sb 1.6 I think...Bumped the cpu over vltg to +100mv...Left mem timings at auto...Bit looser than I'd like...going to tweak a bit more... -Q9300 running a rock solid 420x7.5=3150 apprx 1.31v mid 40's idle high 60's load on OCZ vendetta -ATI 5770 oc -4 gigs of ddr3 1600 underclocked at 1300 and change...Going to play with this one some more... -Passmark 64bit cpu score = 5150 (compared to 4650 at 2.8 - in Passmark that is a huge gain) -Passmark overall at 1861 -Cinebench 11.5 @ 3.50 For 85 bucks this is a great board...Might have gone with a 1356 socket and i7 920 if I were to do it again...But this chip overclocked nearly runs as fast as the i7920 stock...OC'd the i7920 destr
