Continues ERROR-FREE!!!

Pros: I have thirteen (13) of this HD's 3Gbps predecessors (HGST Deskstar HD32000 IDK/7K (0S00164) 2TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drives) running since November 2009 in a RAID6 configuration with not one HD going out on me (RocketRAID 4321 SAS RAID Controller + Areca ARC-8020-16 16-Port SAS Expansion Controller Module). I decided recently to max-out the enclosure (15-bay hot swap) from 22TBs to 26TBs by adding two more, but the 3Gbps HDs weren't available anymore. So, I purchased two (2) of these 6Gbps versions. They work GREAT! After a few days of a live RAID expansion, the drives run inclusively with the older models without any issues. I continue to get 300MB(ytes)ps+ file transfers and expect them to last as long as the continually-working older HDs in the system! I ordered three (3) more of these HDs for possibly more expansion and/or spares. Can't beat $110/HD at the time...
Cons: NONE, whatsoever!!!
Overall Review: These 6Gbps HDs do work in a 3Gbps SAS system without any problems. Again, the only reason I had to use them in this system is due to the discontinued 3Gbps models of the same HD family (HD matching is very important in RAID systems...)
Great RAID6 controller with external/internal SAS and battery backup

Pros: I have this controller and battery backup controlling 10x 2TB HDs (HITACHI Deskstar HD32000 IDK/7K (0S00164) 2TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Retail) in a "15-bay Hotswap SAS/SATA Tower Enclosure with SAS Expander" from PC Pitstop. The SAS Expander is an Areca ARC-8020-16 (3G). Great performance (up to 250 MB/s with file transfers within the RAID system and 300+ MB/s to other storage systems depending on the data connection). Monitoring features are superb! I like being able to access the controller via its HTTP interface over a dedicated ethernet connection. Being notified via e-mail of any happenings is a great plus!
Cons: None, whatsoever!
Overall Review: Great controller for the price! Nice low-cost solution for high-capacity, high-performance system...
Best HDs EVER!!!

Pros: I purchased 10 retail boxed versions of these HDs back in November 2009; configured in a RAID6 array for 16TB of storage. I added 3 more of the bare drive versions (being reviewed) 13 months later (December 2010). I haven't had ONE drive go bad after 24/7 operation for 18 months! Performance: 300+MB/s (that's megaBYTEs) sustained file transfers from one partition to another on the same RADI6 array...
Cons: Absolutely none to mention! ;o)
