Outstanding product - Runs Gentoo Linux great
Pros: - Very fast CPU - Expandable M.2 storage options (NVME + SATA) - and it can boot fine from NVME - 4x USB 3.0 Type A (traditional) + 1 Type-C Thunderbolt 3 - 3 video outputs (including the Thunderbolt 3 port) - Small form factor - Fan speed is dynamic based on load
Cons: The fan can get a little loud when the CPUs are pegged at 100% for extended periods, but probably not louder than a typical desktop with the same performance.
Overall Review: I actually own this. As of the writing of this review, I think 1 other reviewer on this site actually owns this (I think this will be the 11th review). The others are simply commentary, which I do not find useful. I have had this for 4 days, and am very pleased with it. The price is a bit high, but the density of high-end technology here is quite impressive. For my use, this works great. I am running Gentoo Linux with the vanilla 4.6.0 kernel, ~amd64 xorg server and xf86-video-intel and mesa. With this combination, accelerated video seems to work fine (though I have not yet fully tested it - glxgears runs with almost 0% CPU and says it is synced to vsync). It is a very fast Linux workstation, and I hope to play some games on it too. Overall, I am very pleased with this. My configuration is a Samsung 950 Pro 256GB, and the Kingston HyperX Impact 16GB RAM DDR4 2133 HX421S13IBK2/16 (total of 16 GB RAM).
Works great in Linux
Pros: - Great performance for the price (purchased at suggested retail price point) - Stable so far - Feels well-built
Overall Review: I have been very happy with this in my machine. It performs well in the benchmarks I have run (like superposition). I am running Gentoo Linux, but other rolling-release distributions with a kernel and Mesa stack released after the beginning of 2025 should work well too. Very happy with the product.
Seems fast
Pros: Quick charging of Moto X gen2. Seems well-built (but have not yet had it for long). Heavy duty MicroUSB cable came with it. Overall, pleased.
Cons: Took a while to arrive (from AUKEY seller).
Excellent Drive!
Pros: Incredible access times, fast read, fast write, no spinning platter. Installed in my Dell E6400 laptop, works great. Running Gentoo Linux with EXT4, starts openoffice from cold boot in about 1 second. Best upgrade to a computer system to make it like new.
Cons: None so far.
Great device
Pros: Fast network speed (measured over 160Mbit/s, close to the device), and good range. 5GHz network works very well, and has become my primary network. I use this as an AP, not a router, but it has been rock solid for me.
Cons: none
Overall Review: I highly recommend this router. It has worked very well, and I have a number of friends who have bought this too. All good experiences from what I have heard yet.
