My reliable go-to mouse
Pros: This mouse is well-built as far as the buttons and wheel. My first M100 lasted over four years before I ordered a replacement. While waiting for the replacement to arrive I actually opened up the old one and cleaned it out as it had collected some dust and cat hair inside. That old mouse now works like new again so I have a replacement standing by that I don't really need yet.
Cons: Eventually the pads fall off of the bottom, but it can take years of regular use.
Overall Review: Be careful who the seller is on the listing. If it is Corn Electronics, go back to the search results and specify Newegg as the seller. Corn Electronics sent me another mouse model "M100r" which was of much lower build quality and took much longer to ship (two weeks, since it was shipped from China). I had to order a second replacement being sure to avoid Corn Electronics and buy from Newegg to get the genuine article.
It's a PS2 controller clone. Nothing special.
Pros: It works well, hasn't broken yet after a year of use.
Cons: The openings around the thumbsticks are squared so that it's difficult to make a straight up, down, left, or right (UDLR) without the stick wanting to slide towards a diagonal corner. Cutting those UDLR angles in with a handheld rotary tool fixed it but it would have been nice for such a thing to be there by default, though it might be some trademark issue.
Overall Review: I'd recommend it to someone looking for a simple gamepad for their PC.
Not fast for connection to desktop
Pros: Large capacity, not very expensive.
Cons: Slow for USB 3.0. Will not power down when your desktop is turned off, the platters continue to spin until you unplug its power cable.
Overall Review: If you only have USB 2.0 ports then do not worry. The transfer rate for this device will not be improved by using 3.0 ports instead of 2.0. I get about 120 MB/s on 3.0. I imagine that it's the hard disk hardware inside the device that is creating the bottleneck. If you really want to take advantage of a USB 3.0 connection for an external storage device, I'd say go with an external SSD. The vast majority of HDDs cannot write at speeds above USB 2.0 transfer rates so a USB 3.0 connection is wasted on them.
Better than XP, but only just.
Pros: Better than XP as far as stability for newer games, and unlike XP it's not losing update support this year. +1 for that. Comes with MahJong so +1 just for that.
Cons: Many of the new features are thankfully optional. Only what was carried over from XP seems important. The new MS Solitaire is not as nice, -1 for that.
Overall Review: If XP wasn't getting dropped from Microsoft Support soon, I would not have upgraded yet. But having made the change I'm happy I went through it. It didn't frustrate me in any way, and didn't give me any real problems, so rating started off at three stars. Realistically it won't actually revolutionize your personal computing experience, so again from me not getting that fifth star.
Works well
Pros: Quiet and powerful. Far quieter than I expected, as well as much more powerful than the unit it replaced (250W).
Cons: Nothing worth mentioning.
Overall Review: It's not going to revolutionize your computing experience, so it's not getting five stars, but it will serve you well if you need it and it was far better than I expected and I got a great deal on it ($99) so I'll give it four stars. Personally I didn't need 700W and am still nowhere near using it all, but I might need it in the future so this unit will last me for years easily.
It's a mouse. Nothing special
Pros: Has thus far performed all expected duties without failure.
Cons: Scrolling the wheel makes quiet clicks that can be annoying late at night when the house is silent, but that's really a stretch for a "con".
Overall Review: It's just a twelve-dollar three-button mouse. It's not going to revolutionize your computing experience, but it won't hinder it in any way either. If you need a mouse and aren't looking for some overpriced "gaming mouse", then this mouse will fulfill you needs. A plus (though not a "pro") is that there is only one screw holding it together if for any reason you decide you have to open the thing.
Unhappy
They advertise one thing, but they send you another of lower quality. I wanted to purchase a "Logitech M100" mouse to replace my aging mouse (same model). The image in the listing was exactly the same as the mouse I wanted. I received a different mouse of lower quality. What I got was a "Logitech M100r" as printed on the bottom of the mouse. It did not have the same coloring as the picture from the listing, and the pads on the bottom were all missing. The build quality was below expectation; the buttons were excessively loud, the mouse wheel felt flimsy and my computer often didn't even register the input from clicking the mouse as a button. This feels like possible counterfeit considering the deceptively similar model number and the mismatched image in the listing. I had to specifically ensure that I bought the mouse from Newegg the next time, this time receiving the correct item. I will avoid Corn Electronics in the future as their listing for this time was false and misleading. They used images of a different product from what they were shipping out (which was a lower-quality item), and I cannot trust anything they list anymore.
