Most Critical Review

Incompatible

SYBA SY-PCX40009 PCI-X SATA II (3.0Gb/s) RAID Controller Card
SYBA SY-PCX40009 PCI-X SATA II (3.0Gb/s) RAID Controller Card

Pros: Decent price for a soft RAID card

Cons: Must flash card's BIOS to change between IDE and RAID mode. Apparent incompatibilities with other cards. Dell Poweredge 1300 server with onboard Adaptec aic7xxx SCSI and a HiPoint RocketRaid SATA-2 card: As long as Adaptec controller was active, the Syba card could not use any attached hard drives. After a long wait, it would print out the drive type with a capacity of 0GB and then hang. Sometimes it did this regardless of the Adaptec controller's presence, but usually worked with the Adaptec disabled. With HiPoint card in the system, there would always be an NMI generated just before bootup. To make the system work, I ended up using an older SATA I card based on the SiI 3114 chipset instead.

Overall Review: The card seemed to work well enough when it was alone in the system.

Disappointing

MSI MP54G4 Wireless-G Notebook Adapter IEEE 802.11; IEEE 802.11b; IEEE 802.11g Mini PCI Up to 54Mbps Wireless Data Rates
MSI MP54G4 Wireless-G Notebook Adapter IEEE 802.11; IEEE 802.11b; IEEE 802.11g Mini PCI Up to 54Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: Small, easy install

Cons: Poor reception, instability

Overall Review: Installed in a Latitude CPi. The signal strength was better with the main antenna disconnected. Also strange behavior with the computer: Sometimes the fan came on full speed, sometimes speakers started buzzing, at which time the card lost its connection until reboot. Tried Intel 2200 out of a different computer; much better results.
