Done with Creative FOREVER!

Pros: Extremely clean, balanced sound. My music preferences range from metal to jazz and everything I've auditioned on this card sounds fantastic. Comes with plenty of accessories. (4X 3.5mm to dual RCA cables!!!) A S/PDIF cable, and even a MIDI dongle. Thanks, ASUS! On XP drivers on the cd install easily and this card works OUT OF THE BOX on Ubuntu 8.10. (Supported in the new version of ALSA). I really dig the drivers/ control panel in windows. Just put this baby in Hi-Fi mode and you'll be in heaven! xD This card has it all. 7.1 analog outs, MIDI, S/PDIF in and out. Colored lights on outputs are great, saves me a lot of trouble. I don't even have to move my PC now to connect this card to my A/V receiver (Onkyo 705).
Cons: No HDMI. Really though, that's it. I can't think of anything else remotely negative about this card.
Overall Review: If music and sound quality are important to you, this is your card. Also great if you're a multiplatform guy like me, or a freetard ;) This card was part of my project to get my multimedia/computing equipment integrated and functional. I'm now using the same speakers for my computer as for my PS3 and my Super Nintendo. I plan on getting an HDMI sound card eventually, but for now even with the factory cables, this card sounds great going into the receiver. I couldn't be happier with the Xonar D2X. If you're on the fence about this card, buy it, you won't regret it.
