Acer Aspire 11.6" Intel Core i7-3517U 8GB Memory Windows 8 64-Bit V5-171-9661
Pros: At first I didn't want to keep it -- it died in 3 days; a bad dimm. acer was quick in replacing chip. bought it just for travel, but now working on it. it's easy to use, fast and seems to have quality parts. Acer customer service is good. It's small but keyboard is comfortably spaced.
Cons: sometimes drops wifi connection, but not often. like it and intend to buy extended warranty

Pros: don't like anything about it.
Cons: aggravating to have to go to bluetooth devices to reactivate mouse. the wheel is ratchet-like, not smooth. back button is very sensitive

DELL 13.3" Intel Core 2 Duo T6670 3GB Memory DDR2 800 Windows Vista Business / XP Professional downgrade Vostro 1320 (464-1836 - 58974P)
Pros: fast cpu & HD, sizable ram, winXP pro, very good display. i chunk data files on it, so don't need entertainment features. features slow down data chunking. newegg price about 200 below dell. got in in 3 days.
Cons: speaker a little cheesy but ok.
