Great Motherboard

ASUS M5A97 PLUS AM3+ AMD 970/SB950 SATA 6Gb/s ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS M5A97 PLUS AM3+ AMD 970/SB950 SATA 6Gb/s ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: This board has almost everything I was looking for - SATA III, 5.2 GT/s bus speed for faster graphics, 140 W CPU support, four memory slots.

Cons: Does not have USB 3.0, but that is not a big deal for me. There is one minor tweak you have to do in the BIOS in order to make the board stable (see other thoughts), but I already knew that.

Overall Review: I have two similar boards, M5A97 R2.0, that work great but there is one thing you have to change in the BIOS or the board will randomly lock up. You have to turn off Load Line Calibration. I don't know why, but both other boards would lock up until this was turned off. This board did the same thing. I thought they would have fixed this by now.

Most Critical Review

Not so good of an experiance.

GIGABYTE GA-970A-D3P (rev. 1.0) AM3+/AM3 AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-970A-D3P (rev. 1.0) AM3+/AM3 AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: They were cheap and said it supported the FX8350's I bought with them.

Cons: I purchased two of these along with two FX8350 CPU’s. First: BOTH boards had problems with the USB 3.0. I think it is a design, or driver issue. When you have the USB 3.0 enabled in the BIOS, a process spikes the CPU to 100% every second or so. This made my processor run in turbo at 4.0GHz ALL THE TIME. I had to disable the USB 3.0 for it to go away. Second: One board seemed to work fine (other than the USB), but one board kept locking up randomly. Because I was building two systems, I could swap parts and narrowed it down to the motherboard.

Overall Review: I have to give a big thanks to Newegg for being awesome and returning these.

Very happy with it.

GIGABYTE Gaming OC Radeon RX 6750 XT 12GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 ATX Video Card GV-R675XTGAMING OC-12GD
GIGABYTE Gaming OC Radeon RX 6750 XT 12GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 ATX Video Card GV-R675XTGAMING OC-12GD

Pros: The three fans keeps it cool and quiet. Much better deal than the Nvidia cards of the same price. The RX 6750 XT in a 12 game average test fell right between the RX 3070 and RX 3070 Ti.

Cons: None really. Just make sure you have a good power supply and a large case. I bought two of these and it just fit in my case and I had to modify my daughters case a little to get it in.

Overall Review: Huge upgrade from my old Nvidea GTX 1060. I mostly play Forza Horizon 4 & 5. With my old 1060 I was getting an average of 75 FPS in FH5 with the settings on high - which is really medium in that game. Now it's set to Extreme and I'm well over 100 FPS. I would be getting higher because this GPU is only running at about 80% but I'm now limited by my old CPU and motherboard. Time to upgrade those I guess.

Fast little thing even on a PCie 2.0 slot

Plextor M9Pe M.2 2280 256GB NVMe PCI-Express 3.0 x4 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) PX-256M9PeGN
Plextor M9Pe M.2 2280 256GB NVMe PCI-Express 3.0 x4 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) PX-256M9PeGN

Pros: Fast and easy to set up. Cheap. You can't beat the performance for this price. Really reduced the loading times of the games I put on it.

Cons: I bought the one without the heat sink so it does get hot. I would suggest getting the one with the heat sink, or do as I did and buy an aftermarket heat sink.

Overall Review: My mother board is a little older and didn't have a slot for this card, so I bought a PCie x4 adapter card, and my mother board is only PCie 2.0. So I was a little nervous that it would be really slow. I knew I wouldn't get the full 3000 MB/S but I already had a SATA SSD that bench marked at 550 MB/S read, and was hoping this would be faster. And I was not disappointed. Even with the PCie 2.0 this gets over 1500 MB/S read and over 1000 MB/S write. And the next time I upgrade my MB, I'll make sure it has PCie 3.0 and it will be even faster.

Works as avertised

JEYI SK6 M.2 NVMe(M Key)&NGFF(B Key) SSD to PCI-E 3.0 x4 Adapter Converter Card
JEYI SK6 M.2 NVMe(M Key)&NGFF(B Key) SSD to PCI-E 3.0 x4 Adapter Converter Card

Pros: Inexpensive, and it has both M.2 PCIe that I needed and M.2 SATA that I didn't really need, but what the heck it's there in case I ever have a need for it.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: I wanted a M.2 PCIe SSD for my games instead of the 2.5" SATA SSD I had for the speed but my motherboard is a little older and didn't have the slot for it. This little card worked great to add the drive I bought.

Very pleased.

ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Video Card DUAL-GTX1060-O6G
ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Video Card DUAL-GTX1060-O6G

Pros: Fast, quiet, fast, cool, and did I mention fast.

Cons: Bought it on black Friday sale and then it dropped another $10 after that. Oh well. Still a good deal.

Overall Review: Bought this to replace my old GTX 560ti. This is three times the speed, has six times the memory, takes a lot less power, and is way more quiet. Love this card.
