Something to be aware of

SAMSUNG B550 Series S23B550V ToC 23" HDMIx2 Widescreen LED Monitor 250 cd/m2 1000:1
SAMSUNG B550 Series S23B550V ToC 23" HDMIx2 Widescreen LED Monitor 250 cd/m2 1000:1

Pros: Looks sleek and is a nice size monitor to work on. After using a 15" laptop screen for 4 years a 23" is a new standard for me and I don't think I would ever do smaller than that again.

Cons: Speakers, I'm not sure who the on board speakers are supposed to be marketed towards but would anyone really expect these to be any good?

Overall Review: I bought this unit because I was moving back form laptop to desktop. My laptop was an Alienware M15X with HDMI port. I could never get the colors exactly right while this monitor was plugged into the laptop. There was always too much blue and the oranges seemed a washed out Yellow. Since building my new machine the colors have been spot on. It's worth noting my previous laptop was not true HD.

Red screen of Death, RMA'd, Refurb

EVGA 04G-P4-2673-KR GeForce GTX 670 Superclocked+ w/Backplate 4GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Pros: I bought this card needing it for an editing (CS6/ProTools) build that could be used for gaming. It has done both exceptionally well. The ability to add monitors in the future is a huge asset and allows the flexibility to grow my machine, as does the 4gb ram. RMA' process pretty good. Cross shipping is a great way to serve customers quickly and painlessly. RMA only took 1 week till I had the card in hand. 3 year warranty is a plus.

Cons: It started with driver crashes, then the dreaded Red Screen of death. Google it and you'll find that it has been an overly common issue with this card. Is it a bad batch? No way to tell. Having to pay shipping on an item only 3 months old adds to the cost. Receiving a refurb after spending a fortune leaves a very bad taste in the mouth. Sending a refurb for an item only 3 months old is unacceptable 1 year cut off at the minimum

Overall Review: Why refurbs are bad. Re-certified or not there is no way to tell what abuse a previously owned item has been through. There's also no way to tell the adverse affects that may have in the future. I'm left holding the bag. Only in the field of electronics do they believe it's ok to repair an item and then ship it to someone else then not even inform you of what work was done or what parts were replaced. There is nothing I own car/computer/Ipod/Bicycle/banjo, that when I took it in for repair would I let them replace it with someone elses. Let alone replace it and not tell me why I was getting it second hand and what they had done to fix it.

Warranty the ultimate test

BungBungame (MI100) 10.1" Tablet PC - 1.3GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3, 1GB DDR2 Memory, 16GB - White

Pros: All the positive reviews are spot on. When this device originally got all its positive reviews the $200 price tag was unmatched in the market place. However since December of last year many devices with similar specs have dropped down to within its price range.

Cons: One of the speakers blew out and so I began to have that sinking feeling in my stomach. I searched for the Newegg page which had since been hidden only to find the phone number of some lighting company in California. Then I sent an email after 2 weeks I received the usual numbscull response, "did you drop it in the bathtub?" etc. Turns out I was dealing with bungbungame in Taiwan. They then sent me a FedEx number to ship it to them. Sorry while I'm at it why don't I just ship my newly listed bicycle on Craigslist to the guy who lives in Nigeria. Maybe not the same situation but anyone who has an expensive piece of electronics isn't going to want to send it abroad never mind the fact that while it makes the round trip you are now left twiddling thumbs with no tablet for the duration.

Overall Review: There are name brand tablets for a great price available here on Newegg see the Asus Memo pad as an example. Bungbungame did a great job with this first tablet and if they can get on the ground support up and running they could easily compete with the big boys. However the novelty of this pad being the only device that is fairly high end at a dirt cheap just isn't the case anymore. Solution: On a side note, while I couldn't repair my device I did find a work around that turned into one of the most enjoyable parts of this technology. I discovered the joys of a wireless battery powered portable speaker. I can take it anywhere and the audio from my device comes booming out. I use the 1 on board speaker for Skype. Possible Scam Beware!

Factory Recertified Pandigital Novel 7" Touchscreen Tablet & E-Reader w/ Android 2.0 OS, 1GB Flash Drive, Expansion Slot & More

Pros: I don't own this tablet.

Cons: Beware of this vendor. A while back i bought a webcam, it seemed like a great deal at the time a $75 cam for $15 what a steal. It took three weeks to arrive. After a few days I got suspicious and so went and researched the cam. Come to find out they retail for $20 not such a great deal. 1saleaday seems to crank it's list price up so as customers think they're getting a great deal when actually they are not. The same tablet is currently listed for $49 (Sold out) on the Walmart website initial retail price $99. Something seriously fishy with these guys.

Does what it is designed for

eForCity Silicone Skin Case compatible with Apple® iPod nano 7th Generation, Black
eForCity Silicone Skin Case compatible with Apple® iPod nano 7th Generation, Black

Pros: Silicon shell that wraps up my Ipod nice and safe. I tend to get metal cases for my electronics so this a deviation from the norm. A nice surprise were the tactile surfaces for the volume control and the main menu button. These make it easy to feel your way around your Ipod while the shell is on.

Cons: I half thought that it might come with a screen protector but at $3 I can't really complain.

Overall Review: The added surface area is needed for these Nanos and once this shell is added the device takes on a nice manageable size.

Learning Curve

Logitech G9x Black Two modes scroll USB Wired Laser Gaming Mouse
Logitech G9x Black Two modes scroll USB Wired Laser Gaming Mouse

Pros: The ability to customize the mouse is very nice. From the different grips to the weight adjustments I can finally get the feel I want from my mouse. Ability to adjust sensitivity is new to me and it is a great feature I'll require in any mouse in the future. I run an editing/gaming rig and being able to go from high to low Dpi means I can have the correct setting I need for detail work on the fly. Considering that it is made up of various interchangable parts it's very sturdy, there's no rattling or feel of movement which can happen when products are made like this. The free scrolling mouse wheel is great.

Cons: The Mouse wheel as a button, when required to use it in a game, is just downright awful. Mousepad. When I bought the device I was hoping that I wouldn't need one but alas luck didn't swing my way. The mouse tended to stick a little when small accurate motions were needed. So I count the cost of the pad as part of the mouse.

Overall Review: Something to keep in mind when purchasing this mouse is that with all the freedom to customize you'll spend time having to learn what does and doesn't work for you. Taking weights in and out while getting fragged to bits isn't the most fun I've had. All the while adjusting your dpi on the fly and getting worse/better as a result can be very frustrating. Not to mention waiting for your new mouse pad to arrive just so you can get back to your good old self. Now that I have everything setup the way I like I can see the possibilities that this mouse brings and I'm pretty excited. It is certainly worth it. I only hope that it holds together. Tthe last two logitechs both got worn buttons after 2 years I'd like to get 5 minimum out of this one. We'll see
