Everything I expected

DFI BloodIron P35-T2RL LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard
DFI BloodIron P35-T2RL LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Where to start? BIOS is second only to the LanParty series. This thing has plenty of options for overclocking. Rock solid stable. Will run stratospheric FSB rates for those with dual cores. Price 6 SATA channels None of those garbage parallel and serial ports that are on G***byte boards... I haven't used any of those in at least 8 years. Handles 4x1GB sticks of memory just fine while overclocking. Excellent color scheme. Works fine w/ XP and Ubuntu x64

Cons: My cons aren't truly cons... more things for you to consider Northbridge is warm with stock cooler, but not dangerously so. I never figured out the RAID on these boards... didn't matter since I didn't need it. Won't run a quad @ 4.0GHz 24/7... that's what the P35 LP boards, and any X38/48's are for. No firewire. This isn't so much a con because the board isn't advertised to have it.

Overall Review: My last board was a DFI CFX3200 DR... the Cadillac of 939 boards. I won't pay more than $150 for a motherboard and I'm not disappointed with this one. I run an X3210 @ 3.2 24/7 w/ (4x1) GB Crucial Ballistix, lots of hard drives, and an HD3870. I'm pleased. I did mount an HR-05 IFX passive cooler on my northbridge and it dropped the temperatures a good bit. I'll put the stock heatsink back on if anything ever happens to this board.

TRENDnet 2-Port USB KVM Switch And Cable Kit, 2048 x 1536 Resolution, Device Monitoring, Auto-Scan, Audible Feedback, USB 1.1, Compliant With Windows And Linux, Hot-Pluggable, White, TK-207K

Pros: Compact size, low price, simple to set up. Works extremely well with Linux (Ubuntu 7.04 64 bit). Display looks good on my 19" widescreen

Cons: Refused to play nice with my Windows box set as the 2nd machine. The KVM does not allow me to restart my Windows machine... at all. Zip. Nada. Seriously not cool.

Overall Review: I could have taken more time to troubleshoot, but I wanted both machines up and running. I got it on sale so I'm not out much and I can always put it to use again some point in the future.

Solid Chip

AMD Athlon II X2 240 - Athlon II X2 Regor Dual-Core 2.8 GHz Socket AM3 65W Processor - ADX240OCGQBOX

Pros: Runs cool, stock cooler is practically inaudible, snappy and responsive in Windows 7

Cons: None

Overall Review: Installed in a Gigabyte 785G mATX board with 4GB of RAM and Windows 7. End user wanted to do web browsing and some web apps... This chip does just what is needed with a good price.

Excellent card

HIS Radeon HD 4850 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card H485F512P
HIS Radeon HD 4850 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card H485F512P

Pros: Solid performance from this card. Having excellent AA performance made it a worthwhile upgrade from a 3870. Plays most of my games with high settings on 1920x1200, when I got a second card, I cranked up all eye candy. Only uses a single 6 pin power cable. Runs cool (with proper fan control) The free HIS screwdriver tool?

Cons: Cards didn't have fan speed controls correctly enabled under Catalyst Control Center until the release of the 8.10 drivers and cards didn't idle at proper low speeds... I modded my own BIOS to work around that.

Overall Review: As soon as I put mine in, I flashed the BIOS with a proper fan profile and bumped the clocks up to 700/1100... runs like a charm. Both of my cards are going under water blocks for higher clocks and maximum cooling. I'm happy with my purchase.

Excellent Chip

Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 - Core 2 Duo Wolfdale Dual-Core 2.53 GHz LGA 775 65W Processor - BX80571E7200
Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 - Core 2 Duo Wolfdale Dual-Core 2.53 GHz LGA 775 65W Processor - BX80571E7200

Pros: 65W TDP is a broad overstatement for probably 99.9% of these CPU's; My chip uses less than 30W @ stock speeds... I did a quick bump of the clockspeed up to 3.18GHz (1333 FSB) while sitting at stock voltage. Low operating temperatures. Excellent price. Overclocking headroom.

Cons: None. I'll be keeping this chip for as long as possible.

Overall Review: I run my chip in a small mATX cube case with minimal airflow. I use a Thermalright SI128-SE to cool my CPU. Load temps in a warm (85F) degree room will reach high 50C range... this sounds high, but the minimal airflow I talked about is really a close approximation to 0 airflow. This is an excellent chip to buy if you don't need the ubertasking ability of a quad or if you just want to run a low power PC.

Solid mATX case

LIAN LI PC-V350B Black Aluminum Micro ATX Desktop Computer Case
LIAN LI PC-V350B Black Aluminum Micro ATX Desktop Computer Case

Pros: Case is small and stylish and blends in well in any environment. It has drawn many praises on it's looks from friends and co-workers. The construction quality of the case is in line with other Lian-Li models: nearly flawless. Very quiet.

Cons: This case isn't designed for maximum airflow.. it is somewhat exhaust-limited with only an 80mm fan and the PSU fan. The side audio panel jacks are slightly too small.

Overall Review: I swapped all of the Lian-Li fans for Scythe and Noctua units. Modular PSU's are recommended for a case of this size, but not necessary. If Lian Li did a slight refresh of this case with a few alterations to the design (swap PSU and HDD case, add 120mm rear exhaust fan in place of 80mm), they would easily have the best mATX case ever built.
