Most Favorable Review

Works as advertised

Brother MFC Series MFC-7840W MFC / All-In-One Up to 23 ppm Monochrome USB / Wi-Fi Laser Printer
Brother MFC Series MFC-7840W MFC / All-In-One Up to 23 ppm Monochrome USB / Wi-Fi Laser Printer

Pros: All features work as advertised in Windows. Linux support is good with on-line information on setting up Linux. (I use Fedora 10 with this All-in-One.)

Cons: Can't get "Scan to" to work in Linux. The Printer has a "Scan To" feature that doesn't work for me while in Linux. This isn't a big deal for me as when I'm scanning, I have my Linux laptop with me and can be next to the MFC.

Overall Review: All in all, this is a great machine for the price. It works as it is supposed to.

Wouldn't boot

Dell Optiplex 755 [Microsoft Authorized Recertified] Small Form Factor Desktop PC with Intel Core 2 Duo 2.13 Ghz, 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD, DVDROM, Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit
Dell Optiplex 755 [Microsoft Authorized Recertified] Small Form Factor Desktop PC with Intel Core 2 Duo 2.13 Ghz, 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD, DVDROM, Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit

Pros: Price.

Cons: Computer had several issues when it arrived. First, the CMOS battery was dead. This required hitting F1 for every power-on. Then once it got by that, it wouldn't boot due to no boot device being found. The BIOS detected a SATA drive, but there must not have been an OS on it. I would not consider this computer re-furbished. I believe it had been in use at a company for several years and then sold.

Overall Review: It was obvious that nobody bothered to even turn on the computer to see if it would boot.
