Great monitor for the price
Pros: - 27" at $130 on sale, awesome - Slim frame, plenty bright - Nearly identically matches the height and bezel width of my ultrawide, makes my desk look clean & sharp
Cons: - Color range is a little lacking* - Slightly cheap feeling stand/frame* - No Displayport input*
Overall Review: *All of these are totally expected given the price point. If you want a decent 27" for a great price, this is probably your best bet. If you want the crazy color range, titanium frame and stand, all the inputs, speakers, vesa mounts and for it to make you coffee, expect to pay more. It's a given.
Amazing TV, Easy Setup
Pros: -Beautiful picture, moved up from 1080p, 4K is awesome, HDR is awesome. -Picture mode presets seem to change based on the type of media coming through the TV, so watching shows and movies activates my preset with Truemotion enabled, and then disables it when I'm playing games so I don't have input lag introduced. -The frame/screen/external appearance looks very nice, clean. -All the inputs, all the time. You can name your inputs and it'll only show the ones in your list that have been used before, so instead of trying to remember which input my Xbox is in, I just click on, "Xbox."
Cons: -None
Overall Review: -The legs for this TV were too wide for my entertainment center (first world problems) and hanging this was difficult because of the weight of the TV, I'd recommend at least two adults to hang this up, but that's not a design flaw so no eggs need to be removed imo. -Speakers, while decent, aren't spectacular, but you're not going to find a solid sound coming from a TV of this frame/price range. -At this price point, you'd be hard pressed to find a better TV at the same size & specs.
Xbox One S
Pros: -It plays games and does Netflix
Cons: -None
Overall Review: -It's a moderately small, quiet console. Got it in a bundle with a monitor, now I can play Battlefield w/ my brother in law. Dope.
Great monitor for a great price
Pros: -24" class size -Great variance of viewing angles -IPS Display -Near frameless display
Cons: -None to detract any eggs
Overall Review: -Speakers aren't great, but if I wanted great sound I'd buy an audio peripheral, not a visual peripheral -No displayport, luckily I have plenty of adapters to work with. -The frameless display is really cool, I got this one in a bundle with an Xbox, definitely want to get a second one of these to have a nice frameless dual-screen setup.
i5-4670K
Pros: amazing processor, this is my 2nd intel processor (have i5-3770 on an old rig.) Haven't OC'd yet because Haswell runs hot and I have a, "meh," cpu cooler. Not that I've needed to. I use this CPU with 8gb ddr3 1600mhz ram and 2 zotac gtx 760 gpus in SLI on an asus gryphon mobo, all of this for gaming/modding games. I run skyrim on ultra at 1920x1080p with upwards of 180 plugins installed, 60 of which have game altering scripts to run. With proper installation of those mods, this processor powers through all of it at 90% load tops, maintaining 60fps, without even overclocking it! I can't wait for Christmas, hoping for a better CPU cooler so I can OC it and put it to the test with Arma 3.
Cons: The only thing I could look at as a possible downfall is the temp average on this thing, but that's also because I have a pretty tight case and a mid range after market cooler. Haswell runs hot, it's just a natural characteristic. After running at 90% for 20 minutes, each core was running between 60-70c, peaking for a second or two at 72c here and there, maintaining and average around 65-66c. Not too terrible, but not what I want it to be. Again, this isn't necessarily the fault of the CPU, since my rig is packed in tight and I don't have something like the hyper 212.
Overall Review: If you're looking for the next generation in processors for use with multi-tasking, gaming and modding, this is the processor for you. The temps are scary at first, but with the proper know-how and an adequate cooling system, you'll have nothing to worry about and everything to enjoy!
Zotac AMP! GTX 760
Pros: Excellent cooling, simple overclock, the OC software that comes with it is very user friendly. But even without OC it still runs most AAA games on ultra.
Cons: Not quite enough for what I need with just one but that's not the cards' fault. Modded Skyrim is pretty demanding.
Overall Review: Just bought a second one, SLI this card and you'll beat the titan 9 times out of ten for half the price!
