Good so far

Samsung 24" 1920x1080 5ms B2430HD HD HDMI WideScreen LCD Monitor w/TV Tuner & USB Port 300 cd/m2 70,000:1
Samsung 24" 1920x1080 5ms B2430HD HD HDMI WideScreen LCD Monitor w/TV Tuner & USB Port 300 cd/m2 70,000:1

Pros: -Comparable price compared to other brands considering the features -Fast delivery -Hdmi connectivity/widescreen -ATSC Digital tuner/PIP feature -Multiscreen partitions is great for multitasking and especially handy for those still using XP. -Looks great on my desk -Relative ease of use

Cons: -touch sensitive controls on the bezel suck. Major fail on Samsung's part but easily circumvented by using the remote control. -Tilt function only. No height adjustment but is capable of VESA (75 i believe?) mount -Could have had a dedicated PIP button but instead makes you have to use the Tools button, then PIP, then ON. -Colors/Picture settings are not completely accurate out the box. Will have to fiddle with these. Don't expect a monitor for detailed graphic design but certainly fine for the average joe -Not fully impressed with picture quality in TV mode(channels in HD in particular). However, all things considered, its acceptable. Have not hooked up a blu ray player yet but will try to remember to update review after doing so.

Overall Review: I've read several reviews where people are having issues with HDMI connectivity(to display in 1080p). Dimensions and text looked horrible in PC mode. However, I found a simple work around(assuming you are connecting HDMI to HDMI) that worked for me: 1) Make sure your Nvidia/ATI Control Center drivers, etc are up to date 2)Make sure you install the Samsung drivers for your monitor are current 3)This is the most important. Use your remote control, go to Main Menu, Source List, Edit Name, and change the name of the HDMI port you are using to PC. This should fix the problem where the picture quality and text looked horrible in 1080p. I cant comment on VGA/DVI connectivity as I did not use that type of connection. I am running: XP S2 BIOSTAR TA790GX XE Corsair XMS2 4gb AMD Phenom 8450 2.1ghz Tricore I am pleased with my purchase so far. The real test now is to see how well and how long this monitor will hold up. I hope I wont have to update my review for bad reasons

Horrible

Kingston Elite Pro 1GB Secure Digital (SD) Flash Card Model SD/1GB-S
Kingston Elite Pro 1GB Secure Digital (SD) Flash Card Model SD/1GB-S

Pros: Cheap, fast transfer speeds

Cons: Dies after a month of usage

Overall Review: I had high expectations on this card, boy was i dissapointed. I had taken wedding and honeymoon pics on this card and in the middle of my honeymoon it died on me. Thats approximately 100 pics lost in a span of 5 days. After this card died on me, i went out to get a sandsisk card and had absolutely no probs. My father in law has a flash memory from Kingston as well and his died too. Moral of the story, dont buy Kingston.

Monster what?

IOGEAR GHDMI1005 16.4 ft. (5.0m) HDMI v.1.3b CAT-2 Series 1000 Cable Male to Male
IOGEAR GHDMI1005 16.4 ft. (5.0m) HDMI v.1.3b CAT-2 Series 1000 Cable Male to Male

Pros: More than sufficient length, gold plated, very affordable/free shipping, does what it intended to do.

Cons: I wish it was free.

Overall Review: Don't be duped into buying Monster cables that go for a ridiculous premium. They(monster) do a great job in marketing their brand into making general consumers think their cable is any different from their competitors and worthy of paying a heftier price. IOGEAR does the same job in a much more affordable price point. So far these cables are doing what they intended to do.

Cases aren't what they use to be

Thermaltake WingRS 200 VJ70001N2Z Black SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Thermaltake WingRS 200 VJ70001N2Z Black SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Lightweight, inexpensive, attractive, 120mm fan(s), tool-less. Sufficient room to place everything in the case(although, I am currently using the onboard audio/vid from a BIOSTAR TA790GX XE mobo) and good design for cable management.

Cons: Time will tell the tale but I wonder how durable this case will be. I have an old Antec case that I still use to this day that seems alot more rugged/heavier than this case. I think part of that is due to the cr@ppy world economy so manufacturers are using less materials in the production of these cases, etc. Not thrilled with the audio plug from the front to the mobo as its dangerously close to the mobo heatsinks(temporarily fix is to cable tie away but if/when I install a vid card this could pose problems). Don't like the feet on this case as I would wish it were more secure but not hindering performance.

Overall Review: Cant give a complete analysis on this case as I am not utilizing it to its full potential(running a different machine). Will update this review after I do more work on it,etc.

Garbage

Kingston Elite Pro 1GB Secure Digital (SD) Flash Card Model SD/1GB-S
Kingston Elite Pro 1GB Secure Digital (SD) Flash Card Model SD/1GB-S

Pros: Cheap, somewhat fast speed

Cons: Wont last past a month or roughly 100 images

Overall Review: I took pics for my wedding and honeymoon on this card and out of nowhere, it dies on me. There goes roughly 100 images gone. I popped in my Sandisk 256mb SD Card and it reads just fine in my camera, so its definently not the camera's fault, but a manufacturer's defect on the memory card. Newegg is a great site and they arent to fault, but im suprised this happened and my father in law's Kingston flash drive died on him too. Never will buy a kingston product again.
