Most Favorable Review

I Felt Compelled to write a second review

32" 720p LCD HDTV
32" 720p LCD HDTV

Pros: I hooked the Olevia 423V up, through the HDMI Cable, to a Dish VIP 622DVR Receiver which has MPEG 4 Compression. I must say the picture quality is EXCELLENT. At first I was leary about the Olevia since it was a relatively new name. I had eyed a Philips and Samsung for almost twice as much. After reading alot of reviews, I decided to give the Olevia a try as my bedroom TV. I am not disappointed. Hooked up to the old receiver thru the Component Input looked nice but after hooking it up to the new receiver, thru the HDMI Input I am ALOT MORE SATISFIED. For the price of this LCD TV and the picture quality, you can't go wrong. At this point I would consider getting a bigger Olevia for the living room, when the time comes. Right now I have a Pioneer HDTV so that says alot for Olevia. The Olevia 432V is deffinitly worth the money. I actually think I came out ahead by getting this TV and the price here at Newegg is unbeatable.

Cons: The remote is weak. I believe they could deffinitly come thru with a better remote although it has alot of good functions it feels like a toy. Another thing I'm not to happy with is that there is only one of each input connection. It would have been nice to have atleast two Component Video inputs and two HDMI inputs. When you adjust the color, tint, contrast, etc it also adjusts in the picture quality of the other inputs. It would be nice to adjust each input individually of each other. The color of the picture from the satallite receiver being hooked up to the HDMI input might look different then the color of the DVD player hooked up to the Componet input. If you adjust the picture in one input it adjusts them all. The inputs should be located in a place where a person can get to them if they mount the LCD on the wall. It doesn't look like it would be easy to get to the way it is now.

Overall Review: If money is tight but you're still considering getting a second TV or even a main TV, this might be the way to go. This is without a doubt the best bang for the buck. The TV can be upgraded thru the USB port. I did it once and it's a nice feature. Hopefully they'll make an upgrade for the OSD functions Color, Tint, Etc so you don't have to make an adjustment each time you switch between an input. The VGA hookup seems pretty cool although I haven't tried hooking up a PC to it yet. I read some reviews where people don't like the speakers. My speakers sound fine considering they're built in. Although I use a S.S. System with mine. With the money you save by not buying a name brand LCD TV, you could get a surround sound system and not have to deal with the TV speakers. The Olevia also comes with speakers connections for external speakers. Overall I'm impressed so far. I don't feel as if I overpaid for a nice TV.

Most Critical Review

20% to 30%

TDK 4.7GB 16X DVD-R 100 Packs Spindle Disc Model 48520
TDK 4.7GB 16X DVD-R 100 Packs Spindle Disc Model 48520

Pros: 70% to 80% Burn

Cons: 20% to 30% Don't burn

Overall Review: Tired of wasting time and money on discs that may or may not burn. I've had as many as 4 consecutive discs not burn. Why?

Nice Tower Speakers

Pioneer SP-FS51-LR Floorstanding Speakers Pair
Pioneer SP-FS51-LR Floorstanding Speakers Pair

Pros: These are great speakers for the average person who can't afford Klipsh or some other high end over priced speaker. I have 4 of these connected to a Pioneer 7.1 surround sound reciever with a S-DW1-K subwoofer and a S-DC1-K center and they sound great. I have a pair as the Front speakers, on opposite sides of the LED and another pair as surround back, in the middle of the room, along with another pair of Pioneer speakers, (can't remember model) as surround high hanging in the corners of the back of the room. (no exposed wires) When watching the right movie, these speakers come alive very nicely. For instance when a play flies by from the back, behind the camera, in a movie the sound of the plane starts in the back high speakers and passes through the middle in to the front and it sounds as if the plane literally flew by. Gun shot richochets sound great bouncing around For the price, you can't beat these speakers. I was lucky enough to catch them at a lower price from NE.

Cons: Could have a bigger bottom plate to stand on and be a little taller. Non-removable dust covers.

Overall Review: They don't take up a lot of space and are priced right for anyone with a moderate income.

Great Price & Works Great

Pioneer SP-C21 Center Channel Speaker Single
Pioneer SP-C21 Center Channel Speaker Single

Pros: Solid wood body, which makes it heavy, with a crisp clear center channel sound that allows you to hear clear voices and other sounds that a center channel was made for.The connectors are banana plug compatible which is nice to use when connecting it to your reciever.

Cons: It comes with a rounded body and has no legs/feet to stop it from rocking. It doe's come with, rubber place holders, to lay it on, to keep it in place. It should at least come with some sort of a craddle or an attached front support to hold it from rocking.

Overall Review: Overall a great center speaker for the average person at a very reasonable price

So Far So Good

ASUS All-in-One PC ET2410-04 Intel Pentium G630 4GB DDR3 500GB HDD 23.6" Touchscreen Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
ASUS All-in-One PC ET2410-04 Intel Pentium G630 4GB DDR3 500GB HDD 23.6" Touchscreen Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

Pros: Got this for the wife and so far everything runs great. The Touch Screen is very responsive. The Wi-Fi works great it's never dropped a connection thus far. The screen is a true 1080P and movies look great. The sound is even good for built-in speakers

Cons: The HDD is all one partition although with Windows 7 I can create partitions myself. Not really a con but I like to keep my "C" Drive relatively small with mostly just the system files on it while I use a "D" or "E" Drive for all my programs and downloads on them.

Overall Review: Considering I bought this for the wife and her moderate use, surfing the web, playing games, etc. I think this system is great. The computer I'm using now I built myself. Which is what I am accustomed to but I would definitely considering getting one of these, although a upgraded system, for myself

PLEXTOR 24X Internal DVD Super Multi Drive 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 12X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 24X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM Black SATA Model PX-L890SA LightScribe Support

Pros: At this time there is no pros to this drive. I'm on the third RMA

Cons: I've written one review already. Now I'm writing about the drive I was RMA'd. The second time. The first one failed within 30 days. The second within five months and this one within 45 days of recieving it. This is the 3rd one since November. Not sure what's happened to Plextor but their drives are not as good as they once were. I have always been a Plextor person but after this experience I have to switch drives. I had a similar problem with a 16X drive they made and hoped it was just isolated to that model but after this drive failed 3 different times, I have to say plextors quality has gone done. That's a shame too considering their drives are more expensive then most and they use to be the best.

Overall Review: Stay away from this drive. It has a serious fail rate
