There are better options!

Pros: None
Cons: Expensive. If it dies, can't recharge except by plugging it in. Meaning-if you use up the power out on a hike, you have to plug it in and get a partial charge before you can charge it with the sun. I called the manufacturer and they said it is to "protect the battery". Not a good back-up.
Not so hot

Pros: Delivers a decent charge to smart phone when plugged into wall. Nice to have a backup.
Cons: Fully charged from wall won't fully charge phone. Absolutely should not take backpacking. When unit runs out of power, it has to be plugged into the wall and recharged. Solar won't work at all when unit is discharged. I called tech support, they said it was to protect the battery from being overly discharged. I gave the unit away. Save your money.
