Great board, when you get a non-defective one

ASUS P8Z68-V LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS P8Z68-V LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: -Had everything I needed -New BIOS is actually pretty decent and easy to overclock -Runs really well with my i7 2600k -My SSD does a full 550MB/s read and 520MB/s write on this SATA III controller

Cons: -First board I had to RMA because of bad memory slots - QC Asus? -Only 4 SATA II connectors - I can see myself needing more in the future -No on-board RAID -BIOS was a little bit confusing to navigate at first. -ASUS support website for this board appears to be written by somebody that doesn't speak much English. You would think a company like ASUS could afford decent English on their website.

Overall Review: The first board I got would reboot endlessly with no POST. If I reset CMOS, I could get it to boot once, but then it would boot endlessly again. After about 3 hours of messing with it, re-flashing BIOS and all, I found I had 1 or 2 bad memory slots. With memory in one channel it worked fine, although even then when I would turn it on, it would start up for a few seconds, fail to POST and then turn off. Then it would turn on and work again. I RMA'd the board and the second one has worked flawlessly for me. I highly recommend flashing BIOS with latest version right out of the box.

Good drive with minor issues

Corsair Force Series 3 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CSSD-F120GB3-BK
Corsair Force Series 3 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CSSD-F120GB3-BK

Pros: -FAST. Consistent 550MB/s read and 515MB/s write -Setup and install was a breeze

Cons: -Get BSOD about once a week and it will come up with the "needs boot drive" message from BIOS until reset - see other thoughts -Requires Intel SATA III controller - DO NOT USE MARVEL SATA III CONTROLLER UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR READ/WRITE SPEEDS TO SU CK

Overall Review: My computer runs for 18+ hours a day, and I've had the drive for just over 3 weeks and so far I've had the drive fail 3 times. Each time it happened I was away from the computer, so next time it happens in the middle of something I might not be so forgiving - But given these read/write speeds I'm willing to accept the once-a-week failure. I originally had a P55 1156 motherboard with a Marvell SATA III port and my read/write speeds were terrible. I later learned that the Marvell controller is awful for these SSD's. My board only had Marvel SATA III, so I bought a new 1155 motherboard with an intel SATA III controller and my speeds were much better. Even on newer boards, you'll have both Intel and Marvel - make sure you plug it into the intel port. Asus P8Z68-V Intel i7-2600k Corsair Force 3 EVGA GTX 470 X2 SLI 8GB Corsair 1600MHz CAS 7

Very happy with this KVM

Rosewill RKV-2DVI KVM Switch
Rosewill RKV-2DVI KVM Switch

Pros: Works as advertised. Switching was relatively quick and setup was easy. 3 methods for switching (1. double middle mouse click, hotkeys, manual button). My mac picked it up quickly with no issues. Cost.

Cons: Wires are permanently attached to the KVM. This means they'll never get lost, but that only means clutter for wires not used, and if they aren't long enough you'll need to buy extensions like I had to do for the DVI cable. My mouse sensitivity changed. I had to modify all the settings on both computers and in every game that I played.

Overall Review: Overall I'm very happy with this KVM. I took a risk buying this because it was much cheaper than other DVI KVM's and it only had 1 review which wasn't good (looks like he got a defective one.) I docked one egg for the wire length since I had to spend quite a bit of time and money getting a DVI extension cable. Remember, the wire is permanent, so you can't just buy a replacement DVI cable which is male to male, you'll need an extension cable which is male to female, or a male to male DVI cable with a female to male adapter. I wish my two computers were closer together. I made a point to find a KVM that would switch using hotkeys, but found that it was much easier and faster to use the manual remote button to switch.

Good mouse with issues

Logitech G500 Black Chrome 10 Buttons Dual-mode Scroll Wheel USB Wired Laser 5700 dpi Gaming Mouse
Logitech G500 Black Chrome 10 Buttons Dual-mode Scroll Wheel USB Wired Laser 5700 dpi Gaming Mouse

Pros: -High quality. I like that the cord is wrapped in a durable cord that can probably support 200lb weight. -Comfortable to use -Can adjust the weight

Cons: -After a short period of time, my left click developed a squeak noise when I press it in the right place in the right way. Not a big deal, but it's annoying. -What's WAY worse is that the scroll wheel isn't balanced. In free-wheel mode when I have it scrolled to a certain position, the wheel will turn automatically because it's heavier on one side. This is VERY annoying and makes the free-wheel mode almost unusable.

Decent cooler

ZALMAN CNPS10X Extreme 120mm CPU Cooler with Worlds first PWM Fan Speed Controller
ZALMAN CNPS10X Extreme 120mm CPU Cooler with Worlds first PWM Fan Speed Controller

Pros: -Good cooling power -Manual control of fan (On low it's very quiet)

Cons: -Biggest con is installation. Instructions don't mention that you need to take the fan off to install and it's a PAIN IN THE *** to put back on because the wire for the fan is very short. -Not the best cooler for the money. See other thoughts. -No mount for second fan for push/pull. Although you could probably get creative and mount one anyway...

Overall Review: I was cursing Zalman when using the little plastic clips to install it and I completely missed that it came with an extra baggie which allows you to use screws instead for 1156 and 775 socket. I wish I had seen it before I installed it. I hate those plastic fixing guides and fixing pins! I've gone through 3 coolers on this CPU, this one being the most expensive. The other two performed just as well as this one if not better, but were significantly cheaper. I'll probably just keep this one because I like the manual fan control. I may try to re-seat it just to see if it can get better, but I'll need to psyche myself up before I do it because I REALLY don't want to take that fan off and put it back on again. As you've probably read, this sucker is huge. Make sure you have room in your case.

Great case

CM Storm Sniper - Gaming Mid Tower Computer Case with Fan Controller and LED Light Switch
CM Storm Sniper - Gaming Mid Tower Computer Case with Fan Controller and LED Light Switch

Pros: -Huge - Dwarfs my old mid-tower -TONS of space -Excellent Cable Management. Has extra space for everything you need. -Awesome air-flow -Easy to set up -Has carry handles -Very sturdy, well built -Has hole for reaching behind motherboard for replacing cpu cooler mount

Cons: -Huge - also a con if expecting a mid-tower -No cover for upward facing USB, eSATA ports on front of case. Might collect dust.

Overall Review: I read most of the reviews here before purchasing, and was not affected by most of the negative things said here. Setup was a breeze. All of the fans and leds were already connected, all I had to do was connect the "Power In" to the PSU. Very simple. Others complained about the tool-less things, for the expansion slots, and the hard drives. Mine were so easy, and everything worked flawlessly. I'm EXTREMELY happy with this case. Also, as others have mentioned, do not look directly into the power and HDD LEDs! They are very bright.
