Perfect for HTPC
Pros: Cool, quiet, powerful. Am using the stock cooler
Cons: none
Overall Review: Perfect CPU for a Windows 7 HTPC. Very pleased.
DOA
Pros: None
Cons: Started failing immediately. Day later, won't even format. Have the older verions the WD20EAD model also, and that one has been flawless.
Overall Review: After hundreds of purchases over many years at NewEgg, this is my first DOA
Only 100mb ethernet
Pros: Handsome looking
Cons: A pretty bare bones system. No bluetooth, and I was shocked to discover that in this day and age, this thing doesn't have gigabit ethernet.
Overall Review: I'll keep it, but wouldn't have bought it had I known
Poor driver support
Pros: Found beta QAM drivers on their FTP site, and now everything works with Windows 7 RC Media Center.
Cons: My system is no longer stables with their latest beta drivers (which are nearly a year old). Freezes and problems sleeping. Guess I'll have to go back to the latest non-beta drivers and give up on QAM.
Overall Review: Aver's PCI-E Hybrid Combo is such a bulletproof card and works flawlessly with Win 7, why would they drop the ball with this model by refusing to work on its drivers?
Solid!
Pros: All metal, does exactly what it says, and does it perfectly.
Cons: None
Overall Review: Very pleased, have tried others and they were junk...
Needs better Windows 7 support
Pros: ntcs & fm work with Windows 7 RC
Cons: Windows 7 doesn't detect a QAM tuner. Am running the latest drivers I could locate on the Avermedia website
Overall Review: Disapointed - Aver has always released beta's for their other products, and has been at the cutting edge. The latest drivers available are now almost a year old!
