A Thing O' Beauty

D-Link DUB-H7 USB 2.0 7-Port Hub
D-Link DUB-H7 USB 2.0 7-Port Hub

Pros: Small footprint, USB ports on the front (unlike other hubs I own) which makes it easier to use and it's powered. It's purty! I'll be buying another one soon.

Cons: Nothing wrong with the hub at all. The product description should mention that it's powered though.

Noisy Fan

Thermaltake A2173 Aluminum 5.25" IDE USB 2.0 External Enclosure
Thermaltake A2173 Aluminum 5.25" IDE USB 2.0 External Enclosure

Pros: Roomy and solid, better suited for CD/DVD drives than HDD considering the size of it.

Cons: loud fan. It quiets down after it has run for a while. I've since ordered a different brand of external enclosure from Newegg that was cheaper and whisper quiet.

Overall Review: Pretty good product undercut by a bad batch of a minor compononent.

Feeling Kinda Blue

Mapower AE31FU2G-01-H-0-SF (Black) Aluminum 3.5" IDE USB 2.0 External Enclosure

Pros: This is my second. I bought it to replace a rock tumbler. Actually, a different brand of drive enclosure which had a cooling fan that sounded like a rock tumbler.I've owned a silver one of these for about a year and I'm quite happy with it.

Cons: The LED lighting. It can be seen from space. I've noticed this with other devices using LEDs. My guesss is they were designed with old school LEDs and are built with the new high output LEDs.

Overall Review: The box suggest that they make a version without a fan light. I'd buy one if Newegg sold it.
