Great card performance and Amazing Customer Support.
Pros: Great Graphics card. I was able to easily overclock the core clock to 2188Mhz.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: If possible I would give a 6/5 stars for amazing customer support from EVGA. I had an issue with this card in an all new build using a Gigabyte Z270x-Ultra-Gaming motherboard and I5-7600K. The system was having micro freezing consistently. I contacted the MB manufacturer and EVGA for assistance. EVGA was able to be contacted quickly and had response in minutes. EVGA offered an advanced RMA and paid for shipping both ways for replace the card because it seemed to be defective. I later found the issue is related to CPU and PCIE lane usage limitations but the fact that EVGA processed an RMA and I received it before the MB manufacturer even responded is amazing.
Edit 04/08/2020 - Blow Away by customer service.
Pros: Edit: One of if not the best customer service experiences ever. See below for more information. Original: My CPU temps with an overclocked I5-7600K to 4.8Ghz stay well in the middle 70's when under full load.
Cons: Edit: The fan did eventually die about 18 months after purchase, the ticking never went away. Original: The fan that comes with the cooler started making a clicking/ticking noise within days of using this. The more the fan ramps up the more this occurs.
Overall Review: After a recent exchange with Enermax customer service I am coming back to edit this review almost 3 years since original purchase in 2017. I recently purchased a new mobo a Ryzen AM4 cpu. When picking components I checked the newegg page and saw this cooler was AM4 compatible. I thought nothing more of this until trying to install the cooler and finding my kit did not support AM4. I contacted Enermax support to see if I could get the AM4 compatible parts, I was expecting to be told I would have to pay a fee and pay for shipping. Literal 10 minutes after opening the support ticket I had a response that the AM4 parts were being shipped to me via first class shipping at no cost to me. This blew me away. Other companies I have dealt with, while courteous and professional, are not likely to give this kind of support years after a purchase. I will definitely remember Enermax when shopping in the future. FYI with the correct parts the cooler installed with ease.
Great SSD, Super fast & easy to install
Pros: The SSD is solid and super fast. Especially if your only use to older or cheaper mechanical drives. My PC boots in about 12 seconds however it is only 4 seconds once through post and you see the windows logo. In AS SSD Benchmark I get 2200 - 2400Mb/s seq read and between 800 - 1000Mb/s seq write. While there are faster M.2 NVME drives for the price this one seems like a great value to me.
Cons: None
Overall Review: Leaving a small PSA here as it was not a fault with the drive. In my build I experienced some pretty crippling issues resulting from the PCIe lane usage of some components (including this ssd). The issue I had was over saturation of the PCIe lanes. This (and some other) nvme ssds use 4 PCIe lanes; when paired with my graphics card and mass storage drive I got major performance issues and constant micro freezes. This was ultimately an issue with the MOBO which would allocate 16 lanes to graphics slot 1 4 for the ssd and 1 for the mass storage. The Kaby Lake core I5-7600K can only use 20 PCIe lanes. The processor was receiving data from to many lanes and was having to switch between lanes causing the freezing to occur. I moved the graphics card to slot 2 which is only allocated 8 PCIe lanes and all the issues went away. However this took several calls and support tickets to the MOBO manufacturer, Graphics card manufacturer, and Corsair to figure this out. Maybe I can save someone the headache. Below is my build for comparison: GIGABYTE Z270X Ultra Gaming Intel Core I5-7600K EVGA GTX 1070 SC Corsair Force MP500 240GB nvme ssd Seagate Firecuda 2TB drive
Good Z270 motherboard for modern build
Pros: I like the RGB lights (subjective). Lots of options in setup for tweaking and overclocking. Good build quality.
Cons: Gigabyte support
Overall Review: Removed 1 star for bad technical support. After completing the build I was getting issues with micro freezing, I contacted Gigabyte support and EVGA support. Gigabyte support was very slow to respond to me. While waiting on Gygabyte to respond, EVGA RMA'ed the graphics card to rule out the issue on there hardware. Which did not resolve the issue. I eventually figured out the issue was related to PCIE lane usage by having a graphics card installed in the x16 slot and using a pcie x4 nvme m.2 ssd. This combination tries to use 20 PCIE lanes however the latest LGA 1151 (Kaby Lake) only support 16 PCIE lanes. This is a limitation of the CPU not the motherboard but it was not easy to figure out this was the cause, and the information from Gigabyte was not helpful in resolving the issue..
Good speakers for the money.
Pros: Good output volume and easy to setup and use.
Cons: The sound quality is not the best and is very rough at higher volume levels.
Overall Review: The sound is not for an audiophile but very cheap and well worth the cost as a temporary or beginning set of desk speakers
Very solid memory
Pros: Solid memory XMP clocked to 2666 with no problem and ability to overclock further. I like the LED effect however that is subjective.
Cons: LED's remain on even when system is shut down.
Overall Review: The LED effect on these is a pulse effect and cannot be changed. If having light coming from inside the case when powered down is an issue I would look for a different brand other than that would recommend. I will personally be picking up another 2 x 8GB set.
