Pros: WOW! I used this on my first build and it is blazing fast and stable. Windows xp load time...from POST to Desktop...6-8 seconds! I use Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro and the current temp is 29C... And just got done gaming.
Overall Review: This chip gives a similar type Intel a run for its money and its usually a bit less expensive! This works well with my Corsair xms 2 Dual Channel 2GB 240pin DDR2SDRAM- 800, Asus M2N SLI Deluxe, BFG 79505.
Burned Out After 4 Months
Pros: I once loved this board and gave it rave reviews. Newegg is outstanding. The board Smells nice.
Cons: The PCI E 16 (blue) slot burned out. I cant even get into Bios now. Asus Customer support is the pits. They want you off the phone asap so they can get back to WoW! I am gong to RMA this product back to Asus. It seem like that is the customer support training manual for Asus.. "RMA".
Overall Review: I am using the board now by putting my video card into the second PCI Express slot. And yes this does work. (on some boards it doesn't) Be careful if you are considering this board. RAID 0 works great. Asus M2N-Sli Deluxe (not for long), Athlon 64 X2 5200, BFG 7950 GT OC, 2 1GB XMS2 DDR2-800's, CoolerMaster RS 550 ACLY, Artic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro, LiteOn Optical, Audigy 2GS, 2WD Caviar on RAID0, 1WD Raptor. Thermaltake Armour Case. All purchased from Newegg and All shipped on time in a snow storm!
Great Buy, Great Quality
Pros: I don't believe in writing a review until I have had ample time to break a product in. Had this for a month now and Love it! You need to tweak it a bit...but once you lock it in it just purrs along. Looks nice, well built, easy to install. GET EVGA Precision Tuning App from EVGA.com. It is an Awesome GPU application and does work with Logitech G15 Keyboards so you can constantly see GPU stats and temps while gaming. Also the Application allows you to crank the fan up. Fan not that loud unless you crank it up manually. Keeps the GPU very cool. This card is a good buy right now and really is a nice upgrade. My last card BFG 7950 GT OC, 512MB.
Cons: Warning: May not fit in small cases. I have a Thermaltake Armour and it is plenty big enough. Its also heavy so make sure you install this with the case lying down on its side (if you have a tower) or you could break your PCI-E slots. Use two screws. Don't worry too much about the heat. If you have common sense and good air flow you will be just fine. I have 59 and 63 C at idol. No biggie.
Overall Review: Please keep in mind the factory specs for DC Power. You really need to have enough Amps in your 12 volt rail to handle this card. Your available amps can be found on the side of your existing PSU. Check before you buy. This card is built for a PCI-E 2.0 but it will work just fine with an older PCI-E slot motherboards. I do not have a PCI-Express 2.0 Mother Board and this card runs very very well. Upload the latest drivers and DO NOT FORGET TO REGISTER THIS PRODUCT WITH EVGA for a lifetime warranty! You have 30 days and It takes just about 3 minutes. You will need the serial number from the box. It doesn't run hot. It runs at the Temp the manufacturer designed it to run at. I have had no heat related problems with this card. I am a huge Microsoft Flight Simulator X fan and this card is AMAZING! FSX is a processor heavy simulator but this makes flying through the Swiss Alps look just amazing! Settings on High or Very high with a FPS of 20. Crysis runs very nicely.
Great Quality Job Corsair!
Pros: I needed a PSU upgrade for my new video card (EVGA 9800 GX2) and this one meets and exceeds the specs. Made by Seasonic BUT Designed by Corsair with high specifications and quality. Very Very well built. The Single 12 Volt Rail for GPU's is impressive and allows for maximum power output. Its also Quiet. I don't mind the long cables. I have a Thermaltake Armour and its one of the largest cases out there and cables are long enough. Stuff the unused ones in an empty drive bay. Hint: buy Velcro strap cable ties and wrap cables together for solid cable management.
Cons: No cons. Corsair builds very fine power supplies and are rated very very high by CPU magazine.
Overall Review: Do not buy a cheap power supply. Carefully add up the wattage of all your components and then exceed that number by 100 W and that should be the minimum wattage you need with room to grow. Remember W=VA.. Watts = Volts X Amps. Newegg and UPS shipped on time and did a great job. I have built with modular PSU's and I am starting to like this kind better. Current Build: Thermaltake Armour, Corsair PSU and 2 Stx of 1GB XMS2 DDR2-800, 1 WD Raptor, 2 WD Caviar in RAID-0, 1 500 MB Sanyo HDD. Gigabyte GA-M59 SLI-S5, AMD 5200, EVGA 9800 GX2.
The Best if you Can Get It!
Pros: I got this motherboard a few hours before it went out of stock from Newegg to replace my A**S M2N-SLI Deluxe which had serious problems. In all my research of benchmarks this board is amazing. BIOS is well laid out. Easy to install as the board itself is made from good engineering. The heat pipes are amazing! Very effective. If you are looking for an AM2 MOBO, this is probably the best you can do. When I load maps in my multi-player gaming I'm always the first to load. That did not happen with the same hardware on the A**S. That A**S dieing was the best thing that happened to me because It brought me to Gigabyte (swell violins!)
Cons: None really. Handled my RAID0 out of the box, all hardware works. Floppy cable was garbage (eeh). Oh, and you cant flash BIOS with a memory stick, like the M2N-SLI Deluxe. I had to use... gasp... a floppy! These boards are HOT (no literally) and sell out quick so get one if you can. Brick and Morter stores sell these for 200+. Gigabyte did not discontinue this board because of any flaw, so don't let that bother you.
Overall Review: Gigabyte products are better engineered than Asus. Gigabyte's tech support is second to none. System Specs: 2 sticks of XMS2 1gb DDR2 800, Athlon 64 5200 (5% over-clock), Xion 600W PS, BFG 7950 GTOC 512mb, Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro, Audigy 2 GS, Lite-on Optical, Thermaltake Armor, 2 WD caviar 250gb on a RAID0, 1 WD Raptor 74mb.
This avid gamer says "nice"
Pros: This was sold out three months ago and had to buy from a more expensive competitor with rebate (rebate still not arrived yet). BFG is solid. I am a avid gamer on a little budget. That being said, I do a lot of research before I buy. This video card was at the top of my list in the price range. Still running strong. Easy to upgrade software. I have found no need to SLI yet.
Cons: None really. It does everything it's supposed to do.
Overall Review: After doing tons of research on video cards I chose this one, even as the shadow of DX10 looms over us. I have had VERY little video lag at max settings while playing on line with BF-2142. No lag at all with the Call of Duty series. I cant max out my settings on Flight Sim X yet. Might have to SLI two of these. This card is SOLID and all graphics run smooth. My set up: Asus M2N SLI Deluxe AM2. AMD 5200 X2, Two sticks of 1gb Corsair XMS2 DDR2SDRAM 800, 2 WD 250gb Caviar on a RAID0, 1 74gb Raptor, Coolermaster 550W ACLY, Artic Cooling Freezer Pro Cooler, SB Audigy 2 GS. All crammed into a Thermaltake Armor Case with room to spare. Windows XP SP2. All happily purchased from Newegg (sans OS and video card). All arrived on time (in a snow storm) and worked.
