I love this card it is so quiet!
Pros: I'm switching this out for a 3 year old Gigabyte 2080 super and the difference in the noise level is amazing. With the 2080 I could barely hear the game I was playing, this one I can't hear the fans when playing. Beyond that it's working great and installed easily. I did have to get a new power supply as my old Corsair 850 did not have 3 independent PCI-E plugs. I paid MSRP!
Cons: It's way bigger than my old 2080 super but it fit in my NZXT ATX case with a few inches to spare
Overall Review: Super quiet card, works great, no issues so far and instock at Newegg for a fair price, exactly what I was looking for.
Not worth the risk.
Pros: 3TB, copies files quickly, fairly quiet.
Cons: Click of death after 1 month.
Overall Review: I tested the drive for several weeks moving small files back and forth before finally believe my customers files were safe on it. I loaded about 500 gig of files onto it finally, viewed the files occasionally, I pulled the plug on it one day to move it to a higher shelf, plugged it back in and got the click of death. Tried everything, freezing, smacking, checked power, and connections. Nothing worked just kept on beeping. Since my clients confidential files are on them I can't send it in for warranty replacement.
just stops working overnight
Pros: Decent network speed, compact, attractive design.
Cons: when downloading large files especially overnight it just stops working. I've tried firmware updates, computer updates, reconfiguring my network. I'm not talking about just wireless but wired connections as well. I have to disconnect and reconnect power to get back online in the morning.
Overall Review: I've googled the issue and noticed many other people have had the same issue.
2nd review
Pros: Very quiet, appears to be well made, fast performance. This is an update to my first review, since the review it has worked flawlessly. I would give it 5 eggs but I'm still a little nervous about the future.
Cons: It is a bit large, and the first couple of days it would suddenly not be available, I had to restart the computer to be able to use it.
Overall Review: Another great thing about this drive is it is very quick to respond, where as my VelociRaptor back up drive always takes a couple of seconds to windup before I can access it. I really that it runs the speed of a serial drive but can be turned off when not in use, but if you suddenly need it, you can just turn it on and access the info without having to restart your computer.
The disappearing hard drive
Pros: Finally USB 3.0 for my USB 3.0 motherboard! This is a large but very quiet, nice looking unit with a bright thin long blue LED. It worked immediately and windows installed the driver no problem.
Cons: If I leave the hard drive on for the day by the end of the day it is no longer listed under the list of drives, I try turning it on and off and sometimes it will appear but not be available. It takes a restart of the computer to get it back online. The other issue is speed; 5GPS rated sounds great but to move 47 Gig of videos from my VelociRaptor to it took 45 minutes!
Overall Review: I'm hoping the problem is a fluke, no issue accesing files.
The second is a little better than the first.
Pros: The fan on this one is really quiet even at top speed. you hear the wind blowing but no whirring or vibration. At low speed I can barely hear it and I don't have my side cover on and its right next to me on my desk.
Cons: This was an RMA replacement because my stock cooler on my i7 930 ran cooler than the 212 plus. This RMA is cooler but is sitting around the same temp as the stock cooler. And after paying for shipping for the RMA and the return shipping my total cost was $86.00.
Overall Review: This is my second review of this cooler, the first one was replaced because the temps were hotter than the stock cooler. Stock= 43 degrees idle to 53 degrees in games, 212 plus = 49 degrees idel to 62 degrees in games, although it rarely went over 55. This one has hit as low as 37 degrees but usually sits at 43 degrees. its 47 as I'm writting this. In games it is running about 52 degrees. So maybe it does run cooler under load than the stock cooler but It really was not worth $86.
