LG 29UM67P Black 29" Adaptive-Sync

LG 29UM67-P 29" 2560 x 1080 (2K) 60 Hz DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort FreeSync (AMD Adaptive Sync) Built-in Speakers IPS Monitor
LG 29UM67-P 29" 2560 x 1080 (2K) 60 Hz DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort FreeSync (AMD Adaptive Sync) Built-in Speakers IPS Monitor

Pros: Extremely wide monitor. Quite a pleasant change from the boxy-type monitors i've had over the years. Also relatively easy to assemble. Quite the steal for less than $300. Newegg ftw!

Cons: Only con I can see at this point, is the HDMI cord LG provides, is about 3-4ft long. If you're like me and have a wraparound desk, and your tower is nowhere near said monitor(s), 3-4 feet of HDMI isn't going to cut it. I'm not plugging in a playstation here. Wound up swapping my HDMI cord off my Samsung monitor (6ft by the way, provided by Samsung) to get the LG to work where I wanted it. Works fine!

Overall Review: Keep in mind, the monitor is wide (as it describes itself). I've had to move some things around to accommodate it but no big issue. If you're in doubt about cord length, pick up one as the provided one isn't going to be long enough for what you want to do. The joystick type bezel will take some getting used to. If you purchase this, don't even bother with the software provided, just download it off of LG's website since you're going to have to update it anyhow if you use the discs. I didn't need the additional software anyhow since that's not why I purchased the monitor in the first place. I think most people will be impressed by it, so yea its worth the investment!

Most Critical Review

You get what you pay for.

Rosewill RC-400-LX - Network Adapter 10 / 100 / 1000 Mbps PCI 1 x RJ45
Rosewill RC-400-LX - Network Adapter 10 / 100 / 1000 Mbps PCI 1 x RJ45

Pros: Inexpensive, easy to install. Driver disk not necessary, but its there nonetheless.

Cons: Doesn't work well with windows 7.

Overall Review: Would I recommend this to someone? Not exactly sure. It works, but it'll remind you of the dialup days... My onboard ethernet burned out on my ASUS M5A99X mobo a week ago. Initially wanted to get a pci-e card to replace it, but after investigating the innards, I chose this card due to my vcard covering the pci-e slot. After installing it, changing the dns, and other various items, it STILL won't load webpages sufficiently, and will randomly disconnect. Run the duplex in various states, to no avail. To add to it, it for some reason it identified with my 2.4ghz WIRELESS network, even though it doesn't support or have wireless capabilities. I've tried dumping drivers and reinstalling, still won't correct itself. Going to keep the card as a LAST RESORT, in case one of my other machines breaks down.

Logitech unifying usb receiver

Logitech 993-000439-01 Unifying USB Receiver for Mouse and Keyboard
Logitech 993-000439-01 Unifying USB Receiver for Mouse and Keyboard

Pros: Nothing of real note here. its a unifying usb receiver

Cons: Found out after the fact, that it doesn't support the Logitech H600 wireless headset, nor the Logitech G700s wireless mouse. The main reason I purchased this, was because Logitech's website apparently can't supply me with a receiver for the aformentioned mouse. It's listed on their website, but alas, you can't order one. Figured I'd consolidate the wireless stuff with one receiver. Nope, not going to happen with what I have on hand.

Overall Review: I'm going to keep the receiver, since I'm sure somewhere down the road I'll have need of it. Not worth the hassle of returning a $12 item. Do yourselves a favor though, make SURE the receiver will accept whatever items you want to consolidate BEFORE purchasing. Don't do what I did and assume it'll work for anything Logitech...
