It's Perfect

ASUS Eee PC 901 XP - Galaxy Black NetBook Intel Atom 8.9" Wide SVGA 1GB Memory 12GB SSD Integrated Graphics
ASUS Eee PC 901 XP - Galaxy Black NetBook Intel Atom 8.9" Wide SVGA 1GB Memory 12GB SSD Integrated Graphics

Pros: The price is great and in my opinion you get more than you pay for. Sure the OS hard drive is only 4.00gb but its big enough and Asus must have seen it coming because they included a program on the CD that can move your C:\Program Files folder over to D:\program files and the D drive is 8gb so that helps free space on the C drive. They also included a neat little overclocking thing called the Super Hybrid engine it sets the Processors clock higher or lower depending on what your doing and whether you have it plugged in or not. Runs Starcraft and Starcraft brood war, the original roller coaster tycoon, PSX emulator, N64 emulator, GBA emulator, SNES emulator, and I'm sure many other things, nothing crazy (all before i upgraded to 2gig ram.). And for those of you wondering because it doesn't say, it has a 128mb integrated graphics card. Updating to 2gig of ram is also a really good idea. The ram in this is DDR2-200pin laptop memory clocked at 667mhz so you know what to update to.

Cons: The battery only lasts 6 hours for me at the most and that's with the volume muted, brightness all the way down Super Hybrid on power saving mode and no processes running at all just sitting there. When I use it, it lasts for about 5 hours but that's enough for me. The recovery disc they sent me just didn't work so I put my own version of windows on it and downloaded the drivers. The Asus customer support gave me a little trouble but after 2 phone calls and an e-mail they said they would send me a new recovery disc free. Originally they wanted $30.00 for a new one. Compared to other customer support they are actually very good. The woman in charge of RMA's there e-mailed me back in 30mins and we sorted everything out.

Overall Review: The RAM is single channel RAM so don't think you can put 2 ram chips in it there's only room for one. And I talked to the Asus support for anyone who cares but it does not void the warranty if you replace the ram yourself. you can easily find 2gig of ram that matches my description for under 20$ on this site. A large SDHC card is also a very good idea i bought a 16gig thats made for EeePC's it was at the bottom of the page as i checked out my Eeepc as something others bought when they bought this laptop.

Most Critical Review

Good while it lasted

Fantom Drives G-Force 1TB USB 2.0 / eSATA 3.5" External Hard Drive GF1000EU
Fantom Drives G-Force 1TB USB 2.0 / eSATA 3.5" External Hard Drive GF1000EU

Pros: It has eSATA USB 2.0 is fast 1TB is a lot of space connects right up to the PC no problems

Cons: I had this for about 4 months and never moved it from my desk. There was no chance of damage from shock, heat (because i hardly used it for long periods of time), or water but it still died. At first it was working great i was transferring files, i disconnected it, and then reconnected it.. Only this time when i reconnected it, it didn't let me access it. When i double clicked on it, it said the hard drive had to be formatted. So i talked with some people who know a lot about hard drives and they said that the partisan table could have been corrupted but my data was still there. So i spent over a hundred dollars on programs designed to recover lost data. In the end it took 3 weeks to recover 90gig and it didn't seem to be making any progress from there (that's 90gig of 700gig that i used). So i gave up and decided i would format it. It took three days to format (i'm pretty sure that's not right) and after that, same problem.

Overall Review: I never did get it to work again and i'm very disappointed because i found out upon taking it apart that the 1tb hard drive inside was a western digital and they are usually very good.

Awesome Case Super silent

Fractal Design Define R4 Titanium Grey Silent ATX Mid Tower Case
Fractal Design Define R4 Titanium Grey Silent ATX Mid Tower Case

Pros: Very nice case: - Silent - heavy duty materials - Good build quality - removable/cleanable filters on all intake vents - all unused fan spots have noise absorbing covers - included fans are super silent - huge amount of cable management space behind motherboard - instruction booklet is actually useful - tool-less drive bays are nice. They have vibration absorbing rubber stoppers that the drives rest on - SSD mount on back of motherboard tray is awesome - overall - best case I have ever owned. My last case was an antec 1200 full tower...I would argue that somehow this mid-tower has the same amount of room. even though it's not as tall (it's a bit wider than most mid-towers)

Cons: My case had one of the front latches for the fan filter access broken. I sent an email and they got me a new part in under a week. I fixed it myself. Awesome customer support.

Overall Review: There are two latches for the front door to the fan filters. Only one of mine didn't work so the case was still in perfect working condition (as in...the door stayed shut). But I wanted both latches to work and their customer service made it very easy with no cost to me at all.

Awesome quiet and awesome

COUGAR Vortex PWM 120mm (CF-V12HPB) Cooling Fan with Hydro-Dynamic Bearing and Pulse Width Modulation (Black Version)
COUGAR Vortex PWM 120mm (CF-V12HPB) Cooling Fan with Hydro-Dynamic Bearing and Pulse Width Modulation (Black Version)

Pros: I bought two of these fans four my Fractal Design R4 case and they go great together. They are just as quiet if not quieter than the silent fans that came with the case. They are very sturdy and they have neat rubber mounts to absorb any vibration. They also move a lot of air and keep my case nice and cool.

Cons: none

Overall Review: (not really a con) the rubber mounts were hard to put in. I had to use pliers to pull them through....but they didn't rip or tear in the process.

Awesome So Far

G.Skill 32GB microSDHC UHS-I/U1 Class 10 Memory Card with Adapter (FF-TSDG32GA-C10)
G.Skill 32GB microSDHC UHS-I/U1 Class 10 Memory Card with Adapter (FF-TSDG32GA-C10)

Pros: - Works - quick

Cons: None

Overall Review: I bought this as a replacement for a class 4 32gig card I had in my Galaxy SIII for music. My SanDisk class 4 stopped working. This one seems much better but I haven't had it as long as I had my Sandisk before it failed....So we will see.

Big and Fast

ADATA 16GB Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) Flash Card Eee PC Edition Model TURBO SDHC 16G EeePC

Pros: It's great it works and it's big. It was necessary for my EEEpc 901 because it only has a 3.0gb OS SSD harddrive and a 7.50gb SSD harddrive in it.

Cons: none
