Good case

Corsair Carbide Series 400R Graphite Grey and Black ATX Mid Tower Gaming Case
Corsair Carbide Series 400R Graphite Grey and Black ATX Mid Tower Gaming Case

Pros: Liked the look of the case and all the extra openings in the back for better cord management. Highly recommend as a first time builder as it was quite easy using this case. As for the actual quality of the case, it is about what you expect at this price point. The big winners that made me choose it over other cases was the actual size as I wanted a huge case with plenty of room, and the openings in the back that help with cables. It does its job, it was well designed to keep the case cool and had room for a hyper 212 evo CPU cooler to cool an FX 8350 and it never breaks 50C. (still running stock 4 ghz) even after extended periods of use. Also fit a GTX 970 with no problems and plenty of space. Headphone and mic slots work. Only thing I cannot promise works is the firewire slot which I will never use. Everything else in the case was used and worked well. (short of a few hard drive cables and bays being unfilled)

Cons: Had an issue with the rebate not processing but it looks like they took care of it. Definitely was a huge + to have this fixed. There was no actual issue with the case itself. Only problem that ever occurred was the usb 3.0 slots not working on the front after starting up the computer but after inspection of the cables discovered that this was an operator error. The 3.0 slots worked just like the rest of it once installed in the right location.

Overall Review: Does what you'd expect of it and paid for. I am quite satisfied and give it 5 eggs and my recommendation to any fellow computer builders I meet to check it out.

Decent PSU but BEWARE hard to put in

CORSAIR CX-M series CX600M 600W 80 PLUS BRONZE Active PFC ATX12V & EPS12V Modular Power Supply
CORSAIR CX-M series CX600M 600W 80 PLUS BRONZE Active PFC ATX12V & EPS12V Modular Power Supply

Pros: It worked once it was installed.

Cons: It was EXTREMELY hard to put in. I mean it took over an hour to convince it to go that last 2 millimeters into the motherboard to supply it power. This is a chronic issue you'll find it a lot on forums asking for help to fix this. It appears to affect the CX600 and CX500 models most of all. Best thing you can do is push down on it with your hands while thumbs support under the motherboard and with enough willpower you can push it in until it clicks properly and is secure. However that did not work for me. I ended up taking one of the more extreme procedures (short of returning the power supply) which was using pliers to push down the power supply hard until it went in, however this runs the risk of cracking the motherboard so I do not recommend it. I got lucky and it worked for me but I took a big risk in doing so.

Overall Review: So far it seems to work as intended. It was just extremely difficult to install the main 24 pin cable into the motherboard but other than that it was good. Still skeptical if this defect is a sign of more to come so I only gave it 3 eggs, but it does work perfectly. Will add another egg for 6 months of running well, and another if it makes it a year (but will keep the part about it being difficult to install for many users) A very nasty headache for a first time builder and those unwilling to return the product for such a silly reason as a cable not fitting where it's supposed to.
