External Antennae increases signal strength

Pros: -Signal strength (from external antennae) is strong. Pulls in good strength from far parts of my house. -PnP sensed the device and installed a driver (did not use enclosed drivers).
Cons: - (nor really a con, however, listed this way) is the external length that protrudes from the USB port. If you're active and move around much with a laptop, it can (and will be) bumped.
Overall Review: Afterthoughts, it would be best used on a wireless desktop connection. Something that is not moved around all the time such as a laptop would.
A Switch?

Pros: -Pnp, easy setup
Cons: - doesn't work with my VOIP Router (Cisco SPC-2012). No signals received - lights bleed across ports. - no indication whether 10, 100, 1000 on the lights
Overall Review: Make sure this will work in your topology first. I learned the hard way as my VOIP Router (see Cons above) failed to receive the signal. I'm no longer using this switch because of that and won't return it as it return shipping is my purchase cost. So, in it's box it sits......
Great for near hookups

Pros: -Price, can't beat it - no dropped signals
Cons: -None. Really this cable is overkill for the average homeowner.
Overall Review: I use these short cables for hooking-up from my modem to my switches/routers. No need for unnecessary length as it only decreases the signal. Think out your (network) topology and buy the correct cable for the job. This short one was what I needed and it's doing it's proper task.
