Super Silent

Vantec Stealth 60mm Double Ball Bearing Silent Case Fan - Model SF6025L
Vantec Stealth 60mm Double Ball Bearing Silent Case Fan - Model SF6025L

Pros: I setout on a project to build a Windows Media Center PC. While the PC worked great, the noise was a bit distracting while watching TV and movies. The OEM XEON fans sound like a helicopter. I purchased a couple of passive heat sinks here at NewEgg in order to reduce the noise in my machine. The noise ended. However, my processors overheated due to not enough air movement across the heat sinks. After reading the reviews on this product, I decided to purchase a couple. After installing the fans onto the passive heat sinks, the CPU’s are running cool again. In-fact, the CPUs now run about 5 degrees cooler that when using the stock XEON fans. The fans make absolutely no noise. Once I replaced my power supply with an ANTEC silent power supply, I cannot even tell that the machine is on. It is unbelievable to have a dual XEON system that is entirely silent! Additionally, the fans are controllable by the motherboard when using the 3 pin motherboard connector.

Cons: I’ve had the fans installed for about a month now and have not had a single problem with them.
