XFX HD-489A-ZDDC Radeon HD 4890 XXX Edition 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card
XFX HD-489A-ZDDC Radeon HD 4890 XXX Edition 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card

Pros: Awesome card! Traded in a Sapphire 4890 Vapor-X for this guy and I'm glad I did. The Vapor didn't do as great a job with heat as I expected, and it wasn't as stable.. I haven't had a single VPU recovery issue since installation! I was looking for one with an 8pin PCIe, wanted the extra power.. and it helps when pushing the cards core to 950 or above.. pushed it to 975 so far with minor artifacting, dropped down to a safe 950.. rock solid! Fan speed @ 50%.. it's a little loud but idles at 42*C and load is about 56*C. Never seen it above 60*C. Playing Crysis @ 1920x1200 and all high settings.. barely a stutter :D This thing is a beast! Get one!!

Cons: Knowing me I'll want to trade it in for a 5870 when they release. :) No Cons, other than the fan gets a little loud, but it does a great job cooling the card!

SAPPHIRE Vapor-X Radeon HD 4890 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card 100269VXLE

Pros: replaced with RMA, now its working at least. Powerful card, definately beats my 4870 512mb. Got over 18,300 in 3D06 with a PII 3.6ghz, Asus M4A79T Deluxe, 4GB Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600, this 4890, and a WD 300GB VR.

Cons: I'm getting a lot of VPU recovery problems.. happens almost twice a night.. and temps don't go above 68*C from what I can see. Fan speeds at 66-70% gets a bit loud but cooling is adequate, but not as great as I expected it to be. Used Catalyst 9.5, 9.6 and 9.8 all with similar results. 9.6 being the most stable, but I still get errors while gaming that cause it to go to VPU recovery. I honestly believe the stock HSF on the 4890s does a better job cooling.. My case temps have NEVER been so high.. no air gets exhausted out the back. It actually disperses it into the case and its heating up my CPU a few degrees. Not very happy about that.

Overall Review: Trying to contact Newegg to see if they will let me return it for another 4890, probably with the stock HSF as it does a great job of exhausting heat.. the only side effect is its just a bit noisier.. but I could keep that at 55% fan speed and never go above 58*C on my 4870. 2 eggs, cause this is my second one and I'm still not happy, the card works.. but it's not that stable.

Eggcellent!

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition - Phenom II X4 Deneb Quad-Core 3.2 GHz Socket AM3 125W Processor - HDZ955FBGIBOX

Pros: Fast, Fast, FAST!! Quadcore!! AMD!! OC'd to 3.6 and I'm sure it can go higher. Only at 1.42v, max load under a bit of H2O is 51*C. Upgraded from an FX-60 to this.. quite a difference I must say.. worth every penny!! AMD is finally back in the game! Awesome price for performance.. this blows almost everything away! (Got mine on combo with motherboard for $80 off TY NEWEGG!!!) If you get this you will not be disappointed!

Cons: Took AMD a while to finally get it right, but they totally nailed it! Cons: NONE!

SAPPHIRE Vapor-X Radeon HD 4890 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card 100269VXLE

Pros: looks cooler than the Sapphire HD4870 512mb it's going to replace.

Cons: arrived DOA.. computer beeped, then 3-4 continuous beeps after.. manual states that is undetected video card. Tried another slot, tried different PCI-e power connectors.. same effect. Popped in my HD4870 and works like a charm. I hate waiting for RMAs...

Overall Review: Wanted something a bit more powerful than my 4870 512MB card for my new rig, Phenom II 955, ASUS M4A79T-Deluxe, 4GB Corsair Dominator DDR3-1600, PCP&C Silencer 750w, dual WD 300GB Velociraptors, and dual WD 640GB housed in a Koolance PC3-720 liquid cooled tower.

SAMSUNG 2493HM Glossy Black 24" DVI HDMI Widescreen LCD Monitor with Height/Pivot Adjustments 400 cd/m2 DC 10000:1 Built in Speakers

Pros: 24" of pure 1920x1200 gaming fury!!! seriously though, this monitor annihilates my old 22" samsung 226bw. colors look richer, more vibrant, and this has a much higher contrast ratio and brightness rating than the old one. it has a touch or heat sensitive control panel! :D amazing monitor!!! you will not be disappointed.

Cons: i have this little sticker thing that was at the bottom next to the control button panel, got it off but i just need to clean the smudge... computer fried 3 days after recieving the monitor. traced it back to the MB.. :(

Overall Review: Newegg once again delivers the best, never any problems, sale price and free shipping. NEWEGG IS THE SHIZZ!

Comments: first of all id like to give 2- thumbs up to newegg :) its a great board, and havent had too many problems. got dual channel.. put it in the same colored slots (space between em) worked perfectly fine. one of my SATA cables is messed'd up and caused my system to lock up many times, :( after buying replace ment cables (shorter ones :P )everything is alright now. i do have one problem, as i cant get too far overclocking it and cant really figure out why. =/ ill be using the corecenter to put the FSB to like 220, and usually my system locks right up. i guess ill try what the guy posted about switching the SATA to #3 and 4, instead of using 1 + 2. other than that minor problem im very pleased with this choice of mobo. THX NEWEGG!! u roxorz
