Great Media Player
Pros: So far it has played all videos I threw at it in multiple formats. It was also able to play smoothly 1080p contents in MKV from my NAS via both wired and wireless Ethernet. It was also able to play streaming videos from IMS and MMS over the internet. Overall, this is a great player with excellent image quality.
Cons: Had problem logging into my YouTube account; the system would just reboot. No native Netflix support.
Get Something Else Other Than This
Pros: It was cheap after rebate if you get it.
Cons: There are plenty of other cards you can buy from other reputable manufactures. If you opt to get this one because of its rebate, my advice is to don't hold your breath for it.
Overall Review: Filled out all the papers and mentioned in the rebate form. three months later - nothing. Emailed to find out what's going on, and was told that the rebate form I sent in was for a future purchase date. WTH This was my first rebate that got denied in 10 years!
Breaks After 3 Uses
Pros: Easy to use
Overall Review: Bought it 3 years ago and used it only three times and yesterday when I tried to use it, it quit within seconds after turning on with the 3rd and 4th LEDs flashing. Others have experienced the same problem. Even though I am still using a Tatung rice cooker that I bought 25 years ago. I will not buy another small appliance made by Tatung. Obviously, their QC has definitively declined in recent years. Do not be surprised if it breaks down after 3 uses.
Incompatible with Canon Camcorder as a Class 6 Card
Pros: Inexpensive after rebate
Cons: This card does not work with Canon HF200/HF20 and other Canon HD camcorders that require a Class 6 or Class 4 card only. I received the following error on my HF200: "Cannot record movies in MXP/FXP mode on this memory card." I suspect that this card does not identify itself correctly as a Class 6 card. Also the chip used in this card most likely had recently been changed.
Overall Review: Do not get this card expecting it to work in a camcorder that only accepts Class 6 or Class 4 cards.
Disappinting Slow Write
Pros: Cheaper than others
Cons: Slow Write
Overall Review: I got "Buffer Overflow Recording Stopped" message on my Canon HF200 HD camcorder using this card. Obviously, the card's write speed is too slow to keep up with the camcorder's internal buffer. I do not recommend this card for Canon HD camcorders or at least the HF200 or HF20.
Go Get It!
Pros: This is the best computer related purchase I've made in a year. It has an excellent web interface and is very easy to use. Currently I have 2 Seagate 7200.11 1.5TB drives set up in RAID 1. I also have its built-in ftp server up and running.
Cons: Fan in the back could be loud when running. Hopefully ventilation is sufficient for these 7200RPM drives.
Overall Review: Overall, I am impressed by the ease of use of this NAS.
