Solid Gaming card purchase
Pros: The card has all of the latest features including Physx, 3D vision, DX11, SLI. The graphics are gorgeous on some of the later games. This card with 1080 resolution and high settings seems to get mid to low 30s on most later games with spikes higher. Rift -- I get from 25 to 55 FPS depending on the zone. I do not believe this to be the cards fault, but the games. I have played Duke Nukem, Bulletstorm, LOTRO, and the graphics are awesome. I am very satisfied with my purchase. RUNS QUITE!! Unlike my old 8800GT..
Cons: Runs hotter with dual displays. (50s c). Cannot run AA with maxed out settings on all games without dropping into the mid low 20s.
Overall Review: This is a great card for someone with a SLI system. This card is plenty powerful by itself and later down the road you can always pop a 2nd card in when games become more graphically challenged. I truly believe the 8800gt was one of the best cards on the market and ran mine for many years but this is a great replacement.
Sub-par performance, not for gaming
Pros: This case is a decent made case that is fairly durable. Slighter sturdier than cheaper cases.
Cons: Poor ventilation, not enough fan space, inconvenient usb locations.
Overall Review: The ventilation on this case is extremely poor, I had a modest gaming rig with a raid setup in this case and I have had two hard drives burn up over 2 years. That being said I am a computer technician and have the ventilation setup properly and cables pulled aside. The front fan misses half of the hard drive slots and there is no room for larger fans. If you want a case for a web browsing single hard drive case, then this is your case. If you have multiple drives and or like to game/overclock look elsewhere.
Great Speaker System
Pros: I purchased this system on sale a few years back and it has been a great speaker system. I use it for gaming as well as listening to music. The clarity is great and the subwoofer does a great job for a speaker system of this size. The speaker system sounds clear and can be turned up pretty loud without distortion. The bass fits the system well and isnt to little or to much (this can be adjusted by knob).
Cons: My only complaint is the speaker wire is not long enough for a decent bedroom. Yes the wire can be spliced but they should offer either open ended wire or give you a longer wire for each speaker.
Overall Review: I had mine connected to a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 first and now a Sound Blaster XiFi sound card. I have used the speaker system in carpeted room and wood floor room with great sucess. I plan on keeping it for years to come.
Great External Drive!
Pros: This is a great external drive. I am a network technician and work with various external drives throughout my job and this one is great. It has speeds that are good, a big plus is it is in a very durable hard case that is crush resistant (unlike the WD). I have a blue 500g one that is same as this one and has lasted me a looong time (still going strong).
Cons: They could make the receptacle for the usb cable a little more pronounced and straight (mine is slightly cocked).
Overall Review: To someone who complained about not being able to transfer files over 4g...you will need to format this drive in ntfs file format. It comes preloaded with fat because of fat's compatibility. Most all externals come formatted in fat because of this reason.
Great budget speaker system!
Pros: This speaker system gives great sound. You can play games and watch movies at a good volume level with no distortion. I am impressed with the clarity of the system and the subwoofer does pretty good for this price level.
Cons: Lacks midrange, cords for the rear speakers are too short (can be extended with knowledge of wiring). Speakers are kind of ugly.
Overall Review: For this price range (economy) you can not beat this 5.1 system. I have owned mine for 8 months and most likely will own it at least 8 more. Makes a great sound system for a computer in a bedroom.
Great memory @ great price!
Pros: This is a very good cost efficient dual channel memory. This memory runs extremely efficient in Windows Vista 64. Scores a solid 5.9 in vista with an older motherboard. No errors.
Cons: none so far...very pleased.
Overall Review: There is faster ddr2 memory out there but you will pay $$ for it. Also this memory is not the most stable for overclocking.
