Some thoughts
Pros: Like the capacitive touch screen, most others are resistive. Updated to Froyos 2.2 ; and added Android market. Very portable, lightweight. Screen size is about right size . Decent battery life.
Cons: Apps are a roll of the dice. Some work right of the get go. But others mysteriously crash from time to time. Sometimes it gets sluggish, but closing other apps seems to help.Speakers are a tad weak. Not IPS panel :<
Overall Review: Consider this the beginning of the big move to tablets against Apple. Can hardly wait for dual core, more memory, updated firmware, etc. And the apps...I'll take 100 to 200 really great apps, over 100,000 so so ones....now back to Angry Birds !!!!
Not quite a 6800GT
Pros: Good newegg response to RMA for this first time buyer.
Cons: Found out what was causing my low 3dMark05 scores(3400). Turns out I have only 8 pixel shaders enabled on what's suppose to be a 16 pixel shader card!!! Four vertex shaders are on out of six.Usually all six are enabled.
Overall Review: Hopefully this will not be a trend on this particular card. Will await new card and update. My understading is that this chip(NV40) is out of production. So how did eVGA get this item back into stock?
DVD review
Pros: CD's read fine. Nice aluminum finish.
Cons: DVD's on the otherhand weren't recognized. Tried several machines, and disks. Windows would try to read the drive(icon present),but would ultimately fail.
Overall Review: Opted for refund since no other reviews encouraged me to try a replacement. I see the price is down a bit from what I paid last week, so it might be worth a gamble for someone else to try this drive.
Pushed the limits of my CPU
Pros: Nice card for price in AGP slot. Noise is not a problem.
Cons: My cpu I believe is holding this card back for better performance. (3 GHZ Pentium)
Overall Review: Went from 6800GS AGP to this card . 3Dmark05 went from 5K to 6K. Returned for refund. Time to think about PCI and Core 2 Duo for this machine.
Nice PS
Pros: I really like the modular style cables with this PS,since it makes for a very clean install.Big plus is the plastic tool case it ships with.Runs quiet.
Cons: Not sure this is right choice for the Nvidia 88XX series of video cards. Will it handle the load in the long run?
Overall Review: Replaced an aging 550W Antec which might be a bit flaky in my 3.0Ghz Pentium .
Lookin good...
Pros: Was able to unlock the last four pixel shaders. The last locked vertex shader is defective. Some numbers from my 3.0GHZ Pentium 865 motherboard. 3dMark05---4297---12Pipes. ---4672---16Pipes. ---4863---same;375MHZ OC ---5064---same;400MHZ OC I stopped overclock at 400MHZ. I hear it'll go slightly higher. No artifacts at 400MHZ. Temperature of core is 46degrees at idle. Newegg delivered quickly on this;UPS showed up a day early than noted in their estimate!!!
Cons: None at this time.
Overall Review: It appears that that you may be able to unlock and overclock this card. But then again there are no guarantees this will work without artifacts. Good luck..
