Most Favorable Review

Good, but not up to Kingston's usual standards.

HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model KHX1600C9D3K2/8GX
HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model KHX1600C9D3K2/8GX

Pros: It runs perfectly at the rated specifications, it is Kingston, and it is attractively priced.

Cons: It does not overclock well compared to other Kingston products I have used in the past. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, but it is a little disappointing compared to what I have become accustomed to from Kingston HyperX.

Overall Review: I think this is the only Kingston product I have ever owned that did not reach a minimum overclock of 10% at the specified timings. Even when I loosen the timings a little bit this ram will not go past 1720 and pass Prime95. I have installed this ram on an Asus AM3 mobo and an EVGA P55 mobo and get the same result with both platforms.

Definitely not for music

YAMAHA RX-V773WABL 7-Channel AV Receiver with WiFi Adapter
YAMAHA RX-V773WABL 7-Channel AV Receiver with WiFi Adapter

Pros: It does what it is supposed to. Airplay and DLNA.

Cons: The user interface is not very impressive and could definitely be simpler. Video processing actually has negative affects on picture quality with Blu-Ray. Two channel music quality is not impressive at all. Dynamic range is unimpressive with music and movies.

Overall Review: Let me begin by saying this is my first home theater receiver. I am a music fan first. Prior to this purchase I was listening to my music collection with a N.ad C326 integrated and Paradigm Studio 40 speakers. My TV is a 65" Mitsubishi DLP with the 16 speaker soundbar and a Velodyne sub. I picked up a Paradigm Studio center, but I have not yet purchased any rears. After setting up the Yamaha (same cables, source, speakers, and location), I began listening to music. I was extremely disappointed. The soundstage is nonexistent, the two lowest octaves lost a significant amount of weight and detail, and the dynamics of the music are gone. Next I decided to see what it could do with movies. I am not as picky about video quality, but in scenes with low light levels the contrast ratio was noticeably worse. People with a keener eye for video may notice more issues. I did not expect it to match an integrated amp for music, but I did expect more. I will be returning or selling i

Very Nice

Mushkin Enhanced Callisto Deluxe 2.5" 120GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MKNSSDCL120GB-DX
Mushkin Enhanced Callisto Deluxe 2.5" 120GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MKNSSDCL120GB-DX

Pros: Fast and quiet. Just what you want out of an SSD. It is my first SSD so I can not compare it to others but my apps load instantaneously and my boot times with Win7 64-bit are at 22 seconds. There is no questioning how much more responsive my system is compared to the WD Velociraptor that it replaced. According to ATTO the read speeds reach 265 mb/s and the write speeds reach 255 mb/s. Not quite the advertised rate but no one can tell the difference between 265 and 285 mb/s in real world home PC use

Cons: None yet.
