Works in Dell SC24-SC's!
Pros: Good price, decent performance. I had a spare Dell Sc24-SC (cheap server online NOT on Dells site) and with the latest firmware upgrade they supported the 4 TB disks. I was able to put 4 of these disks in and FreeNAS saw all of them and at the right size. It's working perfectly and I have an enterprise level backup device with RAID-Z and about 10'ish usable TB for backups. The disks are working perfectly and have been for about a month.
Cons: None so far other than when I saw the WL I assumed it was "WD" and that these were Western Digital and they're not LOL.
Overall Review: I'd recommend these at the moment. I haven't had enough time to see if they'll be long lasting but so far so good!
Jury is still out
Pros: Cheap
Cons: Doesn't work - it should be plug and play, it's a serial cable for G0ds sake. Waiting for them to get back to me and see what magic I need to perform to get it working but as it stands the thing isn't even recognized by Windows 7 (32-bit) so I'm not keeping my hopes up.
Overall Review: I emailed them from my account to see what the deal is with this cable. So far it doesn't work.
So far so good!
Pros: I bought the 8 GB model for PFSense routers. The packaging was professional, looked like they were right from the mfgr. I bought 11 of these, I currently have 2 in production and I'm deploying more. FreeBSD saw these perfectly, I've had no issue with them and they perform as advertised. I couldn't help but post a good review because I've seen people online questioning this brand. Again, so far so good and I'm deploying more of these. I bought 11 so I had a spare on hand.
Cons: Non so far
Overall Review: This is better than any mSata as I've experienced mSata to be slow for some reason. Straight SSD with this brand is rocking. I will buy more when needed in the future from this vendor.
5600 rpm & NewEgg PayPal sucks
Pros: None
Cons: 5900 RPM
Overall Review: Don't order your gear and pay using PayPal. The derps at NewEgg, PayPal & FedEx can't re-route your package to a different location if you needed to do that. FedEx, NewEgg and PayPal all suck when it comes to working together to get you the gear you ordered. I told them to shove it up their @$$'s and return the package. I ordered a few Western Digital 7200 RPM 4TB drives instead and had it delivered to the address I needed to re-route it to. What 1diots, I'd of used the 5900 RPM disks too and it was on the back of a truck in my town LULZ...if they'd of only delivered it where I asked. FU NewEgg, PayPal & FedEx!!!
TP-Link TL-SF1048 is Solid
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Not gigabit, unmanaged.
Overall Review: We put two of these and a 24 port of the same line but the 24 port was gigabit and they've worked out well. No problems so far and we've run them for more than 6 months. The closet is hot, humid, cold, dirty and these switches just perform! 100 Mbs works for out need in an apartment complex that serves Internet and every tenant doesn't need gigabit speed at the moment.
Probably works well
Pros: I'm writing a review just to comment on the one review these devices have. They pobably "just work" no matter what the chipset. Their site says they're compatible with: Microsoft Windows 8/7/Vista/XP Mac OS X 10.8/10.7/10.6/10.5 Linux Kernel 3.x / 2.6.x Available USB port (USB 2.0 or 3.0) Furthermore they have products galore for Mac and if they're Mac compatible they're surely Windows compatible. As for Linux, Linux probably uses a generic enough driver for it to perform.
Cons: None yet
Overall Review: I don't own the product, just giving balance to another reviewer who's speculating on whether they work or not because no chipset is listed. I bet if you dig hard enough online you'd be able to find out OR call or email their tech support.
