Update of previous review

Pros: Appears to function after tech support session. Once they saw my previous review on NewEgg, Sans Digital was eager to help me get the device working. Worked under USB 3.0. Device does not appear if connected to USB 2.0 (which is probably appropriate given the size of the device.)
Cons: Documentation is mediocre at best. While the device appears to work under Linux, the support software is Windows only. Not all setup functions can be performed from the support software. The setup procedure is byzantine. It was not clear how to get a response from tech support (but once I got in touch with them, they were helpful). I was unable to get the esata interface to work, but I have no way to tell whether the esata hardware on the computer side is working.
Overall Review: This particular device is not currently stocked by NewEgg. Perhaps the newer offerings are easier to set up.
Doesn't work

Pros: None as far as I can tell.
Cons: Poorly documented and expensive, but at least it doesn't work.
Overall Review: Unit powers up... then turns off; power light orange. No explanation, no documentation that would give a clue as to what's going on. The only way to try again is to unplug it; none of the buttons have any effect. Doesn't matter how many or what sort of drives are in it. Haven't been able to make it work in any way, shape, or form. Should have bought beer with the money instead.
Dead at 10 months

Pros: Worked under Fedora, Win 7, XP Pro, Vista; minimal setup required
Cons: Dead at 10 months.
Overall Review: Email in to Buffalo, should be under warranty. Will see how they respond.
