Affordable Upgrade

ASRock Challenger Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB GDDR6 PCI Express 5.0 x16 Graphics Card RX9060XT CL 16GO RX 9060XT

Pros: -Cost -Easy to insert into PCIE slot

Cons: -None

Overall Review: Cost effective upgrade from a 12GB AsRock Challenger. Currently driving a 3440x1440 Samsung gaming monitor achieving superb visuals in-game. Very occasional and more-than-tolerable coil whine; near-silent otherwise. Received a ninety-dollar discount via Newegg's trade-in promotion - I recommend participating in that as well if you have a spare GPU that is eligible.

Pros: Fast. Low power consumption; stock cooler should be adequate.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: Windows 11 boots quickly. Paired with an AsRock Challenger 12GB GPU achieving 113 FPS at 1920x1080. System is responsive and fast.

Pros: Sturdy and well-made.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: Worked immediately out of the box, even prior to a BIOS update. AsRock B450M-HDV R4.0 Promontory motherboard, AMD Ryzen 5 1600 CPU. Ready to game at first POST. Recommended.

Awesome 1080p Monitor at an Awsomer Price Point

MSI Optix MAG241C 24" (Actual size 23.6") Full HD 1920 x 1080 1ms (MPRT) 144Hz 2xHDMI DisplayPort USB 2.0 Hub AMD FreeSync Frameless Anti-Glare LED Backlit Curved Gaming Monitor
MSI Optix MAG241C 24" (Actual size 23.6") Full HD 1920 x 1080 1ms (MPRT) 144Hz 2xHDMI DisplayPort USB 2.0 Hub AMD FreeSync Frameless Anti-Glare LED Backlit Curved Gaming Monitor

Pros: FreeSync and 144 Hz capable. Subtle curve is a nice feature. Rear-mounted joystick for OSD and settings selection is *perfectly* positioned and easy to use.

Cons: Balancing image for readable web browsing and optimal game appearance has been something of a challenge. If anything games look just a *leeetle* dark. Adjusting brightness, contrast, the black tuner (quite useful setting) and general mode takes some trial and error. Very minor gripe.

Overall Review: I paired this monitor with an AsRock Phantom Gaming RX Vega 56 GPU and am most pleased with the results. Games play smoothly and look fantastic. There doesn't appear to be a means of enabling 144 Hz from the monitor's OSD. It is instead a setting found within AMD's settings suite under the 'Display' tab. It requires a re-enable following a clean driver install and will appear as a recommendation from both AMD and Windows.

Quite Capable for 1080p Gaming

ASRock Phantom Gaming X Radeon RX Vega 56 8GB HBM2 PCI Express 3.0 x16 Graphics Card RX VEGA 56 8G

Pros: Most solidly constructed and well-built GPU I've yet owned. Reasonably quiet.

Cons: Somewhat high power demand. Recommended PSU capacity is 750 watts.

Overall Review: Upgraded to this GPU from an MSI 8GB RX 480 and paired with an MSI Optix MAG241C 1080p monitor. The RX 480 did a respectable job at 1440p, but this card supports both FreeSync and my new monitor's refresh rate of 144 Hz - two features the old card couldn't. My core game - Path of Exile - looks fantastic and plays beautifully with this setup. Quite pleased. The most recent driver updates have forced a complete loss of image toward the completion of the install, however. Not a loss of signal, just a black screen. This didn't happen with the RX 480. A soft reset was necessary to drive the update home but it works wonderfully afterward.

Good Value

UtechSmart Saturn Saturn 7 Colors Backlit USB Multimedia Gaming Keyboard
UtechSmart Saturn Saturn 7 Colors Backlit USB Multimedia Gaming Keyboard

Pros: Lightweight and Sturdy. Responsive. Quiet Keystrokes. Broad Array of Lighting Effect Customization.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: I wanted to replace the Microsoft Ergonomic 4000 model I was using with a backlit gaming keyboard for a low price. I already had the UtechSmart Venus gaming mouse and the Saturn seemed like a fitting addition. Easy setup; plug and play. The instructions about how to adjust all the lighting effects are succinct and easy to follow. I stuck with the default color scheme and throttled down the "breathing cycle" (interval at which the colors shift) two or three notches. I like the results - even at maximum brightness the lighting is noticeable without being so bright as to become a distraction. Makes for a much more attractive desktop ensemble than my previous keyboard, even when powered off. Inexpensive and reasonably good quality backlit gaming keyboard for the price.

Just the Wrong Mailbox

Post office reported item delivered on March 4, 2026. Mailbox did not contain it. Alerted 3CExpert via Newegg marketplace. 3CExpert stated they had filed a claim with USPS on my behalf. Nearly two weeks later 3CExpert stated they had received proof of delivery and that USPS had denied the claim. No replacement and no refund from 3CExpert. Three trips to the post office and nearly three weeks after the reported delivery date my nieghbor knocks on my door and and hands the parcel over. I was in the process of posting a one-egg review when he knocked. He added he doesn't check his mail very often. Yes, this seller deserves your business. They shipped the advertised item for which I paid and it was packaged well. I have since purchased alternates from a different merchant but a having a spare is a good thing.
