I would recommend one.

Logitech G35 USB Connector Circumaural Surround Sound Headset
Logitech G35 USB Connector Circumaural Surround Sound Headset

Pros: To start, the sound-quality is really good. Not audiophile-high, but certainly far above average. These are 40 mm drivers, and they pay off. I was a little concerned about the performance of the headset in stereo-mode, but I'm happy to say the sound in this mode is indeed un-edited, and the exact audio you'd expect trough the normal stereo jack. I saw the 7.1-feature more as a gimmick, so I didn't buy this headset specifically to have surround sound. I have to say, that now that I have it, I really like it. A lot of games these days have an option to use 7.1-surround output, and it really does work very well. Same story for watching a movie with surround audio. Although I read quite a lot of comments about the headset being not very sturdy, I find it rather well-made. It's still 'only' a ~90$ item, so you can't expect it to be perfect on every level, but I find they made a very good balance between the sound, the features and the build-quality.

Cons: It is nog very comfortable. At first. It gets better when the headband loosens a bit after some use, but the ear-cups itself aren't quite in the right shape. For my ears that is, and I have rather big ones. It's not a big deal. Not a reason to step away from this headset, but I do have to replace it a tiny bit every once in a while to give a part of my ears a rest. It doesn't ache, but it sometimes irritates. It also happens that I don't notice I'm wearing it for a few hours straight. It's a bit of a concentration-matter. You do feel it on your ears most of the time, but it never starts aching. Thats a plus.

Overall Review: I did do a lot of testing to see either it does slow your pc down, or create "fps-drops", while processing the audio. But I can now say it doesn't do that at all. That's not a pro nor a con. It's just something you want, and it gives it. Very happy about this one, cause it would ruin your gaming if it required cpu-usage every now and then. And yea, the G-keys are quite useless. I knew it in advance, but when you know you have them, it's a pitty you can't get more out of them. There would be some pretty cool things you could use them for, but they just don't offer enough programs to work with. Maybe one day they will make this possible trough a driver-update, but it's not like I'm waiting for it. As I said: The driver works fine. (It hasn't always been like this, but the current driver-version is flawless.)

Execellent for locating your enemy's

Creative HS600 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Headset

Pros: This head set is very good for gaming. I'm using it to play Counter-Strike 1.6, and I'm abled to locate my enemy using sound very easely. I havn't noticed the 'lack of bass' yet. I use it to listen music while I'm not gaming, and it has very good sound quality. The mic doesn't give ANY noice, and youre voice is very clear. Also, it's very stable on your head, it doesn't move, or fall off. This was the case with older head-sets I've owned, but with this one, it doesn't.

Cons: After an hour or 2 my ears are aching, but if it is perfectly mounted on my head, it takes more than 2 hours until it hurts ^^.

Overall Review: I'm using it on a standard soundcard. On the box it says it is perfect in use with a Creative Sound-Blaster(Xfi) soundcard. I didn't buy this head-set from NewEgg.
