Seagate STBD4000400 4TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Retail Kit
Seagate STBD4000400 4TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Retail Kit

Pros: 4,000,650,883,072 bytes of space Formatted to 3.63TB Cost per GB about 4.25 Cents Energy efficient 7Watts while writing 3Watts Idle, <1 in sleep mode.

Cons: Data transfer slows way down after long file transfer sessions. Started at 116MBps and after five hours of transfer slowed to just 3MBps likely due to heat as this was a consistant issue and hppened on both of the drives I bought.

Overall Review: I started out the transfet of 1.5Tb of data consisting of 5GB to 8GB files nothing smaller. Speed was 116MBps for the first two hours than 93 down to 82 the next hour in the 4th hour it was 54MBps slowing to 2MBps at the beginning of the 6th hour. Great capacity just don't transfer for more than 3 hours at a time.

TRENDnet TEW-687GA N450 Wireless Gaming Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g/n Ethernet Port Up to 450Mbps Wireless Data Rates
TRENDnet TEW-687GA N450 Wireless Gaming Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g/n Ethernet Port Up to 450Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: WPA2, Lots of configuration options, can be connected to a switch for more ports. Very fast when working measured 368 Mbits PC to PC with 4 of 5 bars strength.

Cons: Looses connectivity every time it is not used. This is a big one and worth the other four stars. So you have to push the link up button on your router than you have 60 seconds to push the link button on this device. No problem...except you have to do it every time you turn off your computer or just when your computer goes to sleep, and pretty much every time this thing is not used for 30 minutes or more. When it's idle it disconnects. Extremely disappointed as I use this device downstairs and my modem is upstairs.

Overall Review: Buy one that stays connected even when not in use. Once you get past the poor quality wizard they provide you for setup it actually has a lot of options for configuration however nothing that will keep it connected when not in use.

Excellent vacuum!!

Dyson V7 Animal + Cordless HEPA Vacuum
Dyson V7 Animal + Cordless HEPA Vacuum

Pros: - Light / easily able to hold it for the length of the battery life - Well designed / Dyson thought of everything with this vacuum - Cheap but still has a six MO. warranty. - Quiet / Much quieter than a plug in style vacuum even when on high mode.

Cons: Battery requires you to remove three screws to take it off. This makes changing the battery on the fly impossible.

Overall Review: This is my first experience with a cordless vacuum and I am impressed. Dyson thought of almost everything. The components swap out with a push of a button. On the large roller the motor to turn it is built inside the roller preventing it from collecting dirt. The roller brushes pull out of the roller housing for easy cleanup. The entire thing runs with just two reusable filters. If you accidentally push the dump bin button it will not dump, you have to lift up the filter head up before the bin will open so you really can't do it by accident. The long reach tools while compact will extend to to nearly 5 feet giving you plenty of reach. The variety of included tools make this a very capable vacuum. It also has auto shut off if the hose becomes too clogged or the bin is too full, this will keep the motor from burning out. Another cool features included a diagnostic light that tells you what is wrong. Last the suction on this is very nice, was able to fill the bin the first time i vacuumed my living room and I do that weekly. Hope this helps. Highly recommended!

Perfect size!

ASRock DESKMINI 310W Intel Socket LGA1151 Intel H310 Mini / Booksize Barebone System
ASRock DESKMINI 310W Intel Socket LGA1151 Intel H310 Mini / Booksize Barebone System

Pros: Almost as small as a Gigabyte Brix but much more customizable. 65 Watt TDP gives plenty of play with CPU options. Dual RAM ports are nice considering some manufactures try to cut one out to save space. NVME PCIE X4, runs very nice boots up in 2 or 3 seconds. Room for 2 SATA drives. WIFI included!

Cons: I really...really.. wanted an mini STX form factor computer for the Ryzen 2400G! A variant just 1/2" thicker could offer a slim ODD option adding perfection to an already exceptional case.

Overall Review: I travel a lot and don't like the limitations of a laptop as far as upgrades. With this I can overcome many of those. I have it equipped with 16GB (1X16) DDR4 2666, I3 8300, will likely upgrade to an 8700T, 240NVME 3200MBps Read, 2700 Write, 2TB Seagate SSHD and 500GB Samsung 850 EVO. (I was not persuaded to do this review in any way)

Excellent processor for the price!

Intel Core i3 8th Gen - Core i3-8300 Coffee Lake Quad-Core 3.7 GHz LGA 1151 (300 Series) 65W BX80684I38300 Desktop Processor Intel UHD Graphics 630
Intel Core i3 8th Gen - Core i3-8300 Coffee Lake Quad-Core 3.7 GHz LGA 1151 (300 Series) 65W BX80684I38300 Desktop Processor Intel UHD Graphics 630

Pros: Great for multi threaded applications as long as you only need 4. Integrated video is more powerful than previous generations. 883 GFLOPS at FP16(Half performance), 441 GFLOPS at FP32(Full Performance).

Cons: It's not hyper threaded.

Overall Review: People often compare this to the I3 8100 and say: "Save yourself $20 and go with the 8100, there the same" Their wrong! This processor runs at 3.7Ghz vs 3.6Ghz which means an extra 400Mhz across all cores. This processor uses 62 Watts VS. 65 Watts (saves energy) This processor runs its UHD 630 at 1150Mhz vs 1100Mhz which gives you 40 extra GFLOPS of graphic power in FP16 mode. This processor has 8MB of cache vs 6MB, better for multi tasking. So if you are like me and building a cheap computer based on the Asrock Deskmini H310 and want the best bang for your buck this chip is worth the extra $20. The H310 does not overclock so all the extras are nice because you can't OC to get them.

Envy of your friends!

G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) Desktop Memory Model F4-2400C15D-32GVR
G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) Desktop Memory Model F4-2400C15D-32GVR

Pros: Works in my ASROCK X99M Killer after a BIOS update. Works in conjunction with ADATA DDR4 2800 8GB X2 1.2V (AX4U2800W8G17-QRZ) Outstanding price for 16GB of DDR4 Lifetime Warranty!

Cons: This RAM is rated at 2400 15-15-15 & my ADATA XPG gaming ram is rated at 2800 17-17-17, but combined they run at 2200 14-14-14. I was hoping for the ADATA to throttle down to 2400 15-15-15 but no such luck. Not G.SKILLs fault though as they specifically say to run in a matched set of 2 or 4.

Overall Review: So while most of you are thinking why would you combine two sets of different RAM the answer is simple, money! I needed more than 32GB of Ram and I had a quad channel set of ADATA XPG gaming RAM with 4X 8GB Strips but did not have enough money for two of these kits. My board would support 4x 16's so I ordered one set of this RAM and figure Ill order another set later. If your motherboard does not boot with these RAM sticks which mine didn't, refer to the memory support list with the manufacturer than update your BIOS. If that doesn't work your board likely does not support them. For now I have a very stable 48GB of DDR4 Ram operating at 2200Mhz. Along side a 5820K 6 Core 12 thread CPU, a 256GB Samsung M.2 XM951, and an R9-290X liquid cooled GPU.
