Learned Something New

CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX850 (CMPSU-850AX) 850 W ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply
CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX850 (CMPSU-850AX) 850 W ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: This PSU is really great, works phenomenally, I haven't had a single problem with it since I installed it into my computer, next step is to purchase my second Asus graphics card and start Crossfiring with ease.

Cons: I'm conning myself, I started off with a paperclip test on the weekend (unable to contact corsair about problems for 2 days due to weekend) the test proved that the PSU was Faulty, but it wasn't, Corsair's New gold line-up has a power saving feature on the main fan so that it only kicks in when it reaches a certain load across the PSU. once i figured that out i plugged it in, but then there was another problem, my PC wasn't posting, so i was able to then re-seat my RAM and it fixed the problem immediately.

Overall Review: DO NOT underestimate corsair, this is not a bad PSU, and those of you just Paperclip testing these things and sending them in one after another claiming they are faulty, THEY ARE NOT! The fan will start to spin but stop when you paperclip test these PSU's because of their power saving features. The main fan on the PSU will spin and opperate normally when you install the PSU. Stop sending your perfectly fine PSU's back to Newegg.com for no good reason.

CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX850 (CMPSU-850AX) 850 W ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Velvet bag, packaging, cable length, newegg shipping was fast, I forgot I ordered the item and was pleasantly surprised to find the box when coming home from work

Cons: Doa, doa, doa, oh and doa. Read some good reviews and felt confident in purchasing this item on one of neweggs weekend deals. After receiving a doa item I've been on several forums that show numerous victims have purchased this trap of a psu and others that fell for the replacement gag as well, I will just get my refund and shop for a more reliable product.

Overall Review: It's a trap!

From Antec 902 > To Define Mini

Fractal Design Define Mini Black Silent MATX Mini Tower Computer Case
Fractal Design Define Mini Black Silent MATX Mini Tower Computer Case

Pros: Construction - this case is SOLID! Thought I'd have trouble with the door, nope, it's not that bad after not having a door on principle for many years. This thing has a lot of room inside, and a lot of cable management options. I will be testing the Hyper 212 cpu cooler with this case (motherboard standoffs included) and will edit this review at a later date once I've received my new cpu cooler

Cons: - Not a lot of fans included - Filters in front are scr*wed in, and require a few extra minutes when cleaning - Also, I can see the screws wearing out and since there aren't any of the same size that could be a bad thing...stick to vacuuming the front filters off instead of removing all the time?

Overall Review: Fan locations and Size options for people who want to order fans with the case (see product description to see what fans come standard with this case) ***NOT ALL FANS LISTED ARE INCLUDED***: -Top fan: 1 top fan of 120mm or 140mm size -Rear fan: 1 rear fan of 120mm size *ONLY* -Side fan: 1 side fan of 120mm or 140mm size -Bottom fan: 1 bottom fan of 120mm size *ONLY* -Front Fans: 2 front fans of 120mm size *ONLY* 3 Filters total for fans, 1 on the bottom which is removable with ease (it just slides out) which covers both the PSU fan and optional Bottom fan The front filters required 4 screws to be removed in order to remove and clean them, it takes the fan with it so you have to unclip the fans as well and set those aside. ***BE WARNED OVER TIGHTENING OR OVER USE OF THESE SCREWS CAN AND WILL LEAD TO STRIPPING / WEARING OUT OF THE PLASTIC SECURE POINTS AROUND THE FILTERS.***

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition - Phenom II X4 Deneb Quad-Core 3.4 GHz Socket AM3 125W Processor - HDZ965FBGMBOX
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition - Phenom II X4 Deneb Quad-Core 3.4 GHz Socket AM3 125W Processor - HDZ965FBGMBOX

Pros: I have better luck with AMD/Nvidia builds than any other combo of CPU/GPU. I'm running this thing with an Nvidia GTX 570 HD Superclocked Edition card, and I must say, WOW. These two combined have blasted through every game I've thrown at it, MWO ultra settings, Skyrim at it's finest, Trine2, Even more recently it's taken on Farcry 3 and again, tied that game to a radiator and had it's way with it. This CPU will be very memorable to me, it's bridged an amazing gap between yester-years games and tomorrows game's like I've never seen, and I now have a spoiled expectation for my next AMD/Nvidia build to do the same in the years to come.

Cons: Never over clocked it, this is a con on myself, I bought the Hyper 212 with push-pull fans and it's really only kept the Internal Beta value down so that I could keep this thing healthy and in the ring like a young Rocky getting angry until it strikes down another game.

Overall Review: Have fun everyone who wants a cheap (now-a-days) CPU with great performance and overclocking capabilities. On a budget? take this thing and put it on your side, you'll win every time. Don't allow this thing to be bottle necked by anything, if you're skimping on a CPU, put the money into a better MOBO, GPU (not too much) and some classy RAM

Fits great in my Antec 900-2

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU Cooler, 4 CDC Heatpipes, 120mm PWM Fan, Aluminum Fins for AMD Ryzen/Intel LGA1200/1151
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU Cooler, 4 CDC Heatpipes, 120mm PWM Fan, Aluminum Fins for AMD Ryzen/Intel LGA1200/1151

Pros: Easy to install Transferable to my new AM3+ build when I finish it Low temps (Las Vegas gets hot, in an 80 degree hous this sit's firm at 38c on min load and browsing/streaming, and seen it at 42c under load with SWTOR and BF3 max settings.) No problems with the fan so far, if I have any i'll make it a pushpull or replace the current fan with a few antec's i have lying around. All hot air is immediately evacuated from the case due to the 120mm rear and 200mm top fan's keeping my case's temps very low.

Cons: the cable this came with for free is a usb B for printer's/faxes...no use there. was Terrified this thing wouldn't fit in my case, but looks are decieving and it fit with room to spare and doesn't interfeer with my case's side panel 120mm intake fan.

Overall Review: I'm hearing now there's better cooler's out there, Who care's? This thing works, and it's pretty simple to use. Was thinking about going liquid cooled, but I've seen a few too many horror stories about leaking onto CPU's and other Mobo components causeing catastrophic meltdowns. Rather stick with Air and Reality when it come's to my computer, not a serious over clocker anyways so liquid would be wasted on my systems.

Red, Like Darth Vaders Lightsaber

Antec 761345-75026-4 Red LED 3-Speed Case Cooling Fan
Antec 761345-75026-4 Red LED 3-Speed Case Cooling Fan

Pros: Easy enough install into my Antec 902 case, couple screws, couple tabs, and all four of the fans i ordered were in. Something people neglect to mention is that these have switches on them, with L M H settings, (Low Med High) Regretfully i dont have the time right now to re-sauder the Potentiometer's from my old fans so that i have those front dials to adjust the intake speed on the front but it's a easy overcome, i run them on high all the time anyways.

Cons: None, so far, I'm going to wait a few months to a year and edit this review as my ownership time grows.

Overall Review: These are not pink, purple, orange, Maroon, or any other shade of red out there, THEY ARE RED! if you're the kind of person looking for that red that would be found say in a lightsaber, or even police light red, or for another example, fire engine red, but a light, these are the one's you're looking for.
