I'm very happy - MSI RTX 2070 Gaming Z

MSI GeForce RTX 2070 8GB GDDR6 PCI Express 3.0 x16 Video Card RTX 2070 GAMING Z 8G
MSI GeForce RTX 2070 8GB GDDR6 PCI Express 3.0 x16 Video Card RTX 2070 GAMING Z 8G

Pros: Good video output - Min 60 FPS on everything I have played so far Runs cool enough (Roughly 65-70 C on max load) Quiet until it hits high load RGB lighting is really nice Bought it at 550$ WITH BF5 Ray tracing is really beautiful All metal Backplate helps reduce heat and GPU sag

Cons: Card is big, and bulky, and heavy Can raise temperatures in a small room during long gaming sessions (But that's with ANY cpu, so it's not a big deal here) Ray Tracing is only supported in a few games right now, so your buying a feature that's not highly supported, and may never be.

Overall Review: I highly recommend this card for anyone looking to get into RTX on a budget. I had an EVGA 1060 6GB SuperClock, which was a really decent card. I bought this because I wanted more beef for streaming and recording gameplay, but didn't want to spend 1200$ to buy a 2080Ti. I have been extremely surprised with how well the card worked, and how easy it has been. A lot of people are claiming DoA, which is to be expected with any new card release, but I didn't have ANY problems getting this card working. Because I had previously had the 1060 installed in my CPU it was just a 2 minute driver update and I was gaming again. This card is listed as being 12 inches long, and 6.1 inches wide, with a depth of about 2 PCIE slots. That might worry some of you about fitting it in your case, but rest assured it's not ACTUALLY that big. They measured it with the extra length of the mounting bracket included, so really this card is about 5 or 5.5 inches. I had exactly 6.2 inches of width in my case and it went in snug and easy! They even thought ahead and inset the power connectors so you have extra room for the wiring to fit. It'll fit in just about any case, as long as you have 6 inches from your MOBO, and 12 inches for the massive length! Please check if this card will fit before buying! The card is currently super cheap compared to other cards with similar benchmarks, so it's a good time to grab one of these, at least from what I've seen and read. It preforms well above and beyond what i expected, and I doubt I'll be upgrading for at least a few more years! The fans are really quiet, they don't even spin up until 60C, and when they do they aren't annoying at all. I don't hear them through my Astros A10 headset, and the mic doesn't pick them up either, so I can't complain at all. Even when I'm using my speaker system I can barely hear them, and even then it's only a dull hum in the background that sounds methodical and relaxing. There's no huge sound problems with this card for me, or anyone else unless you're going for a super quiet build, in which case you should be looking at watercooling anyway. Just FYI there's NO WATER BLOCKS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FOR THIS CARD. If you're looking at that just get a 2080 or 2080Ti, there's going to be way more support for watercooling them. I've had this card for 3 weeks now and I love it! The ray tracing puts up 60-70 FPS in BF5, the look is really nice, and it's very powerful. I know a lot of people are skeptical about this card, but I wouldn't be. If you don't want to buy into Ray Tracing that's not even a hit to this card, it's still a good cost to performance ratio from everything I've seen, and it's cheap enough that you can actually get one. It's also very appealing in my rig visually. The RGB is simple, and minimal, but just enought to stand out. The backplate fits perfectly with the silver and black ascetic I went for, and configuring the RGB was too easy. You need 2 programs to run the card, one for clock and one for RGB, but that's a minimal gripe because I have only opened the RGB settings the one time. Just keep in mind that this card will fill your case, so it might block the intended visual effects on your MOBO RGB if there are any by the PCIE slots. Final thoughts... I got the 2070 Gaming Z. That extra Gaming z is important because the Z cards have extra headroom for factory clock and overclocking. Mine is at a max boost of 1830 MHZ, the factory max boost, and it runs amazingly well. Spend the extra little bit and get the Z model for extra future proofing.
