Faster than 24x CD/RW, and...

Western Digital Dual-option USB 2.0 WDXUB1200BBNN 120GB 7200 RPM 2MB Cache External Hard Drive
Western Digital Dual-option USB 2.0 WDXUB1200BBNN 120GB 7200 RPM 2MB Cache External Hard Drive

Pros: I am a software tech- Backups are faster, more dependable/manageable than 24x CD/RW. Nearly as fast as my 7200 rpm slave HD. Do your backups, and turn it off in case you are infected with a virus... Works great with my Acronis 9.0 System Image software. Never gets hot. XP system installs drivers, & recognizes- Forget their WD software. Needs to be reformated from FAT32 to NTFS, for XP/more partitions- Right click om My Computer, manage, Disk management..., RESTART.

Cons: None

Overall Review: I'm sooo tired of my CD backups, becoming unreadealbe! This is the "Cat's Meow"!

Good hardware Value, but Lousy support...!

ZT Desktop PC Affinity 7587Mi Intel Core i5-2310 8GB DDR3 1.5TB HDD Intel HD Graphics 2000 Windows 7 Home Premium
ZT Desktop PC Affinity 7587Mi Intel Core i5-2310 8GB DDR3 1.5TB HDD Intel HD Graphics 2000 Windows 7 Home Premium

Pros: On paper this looks like a good hardware value, until you need software support....

Cons: Outsourced tech support is very nice/polite, unable to answer the simplest questions, and give BAD information like they know what they are talking about (Not!)/ corrupted my system. USA M-F based support Slow to answer "polite" voice mail requests (2-5 days), or not at all! :o( Driver Reinstall CD is out-of-date, with many driver/program options that have no details?- clueless tech support had me install "all" of them "at once" (chipset too). -One Resource Hog program that made hidden/mirror images of every program/file on my computer (like a faux Raid). -Another was a Huge Resource Hog like Windows Desktop (I like freeware Search Everything/hidden files too), that redundantly dupe indexed everything (no better than the Start Searchbox).

Overall Review: Win 7 Pro OEM CD was useless, but able to use the key code with a full CD copy from another computer.

Faster than SSD for normal computing, and...

Western Digital WD VelociRaptor WD4500BLHX 450GB 10000 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 2.5" Internal Enterprise Hard Drive Bare Drive
Western Digital WD VelociRaptor WD4500BLHX 450GB 10000 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 2.5" Internal Enterprise Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: After I "upgraded" to the Raptor sata6, and Consolidate defraged with Auslogics Free...- My computing is Much faster!

Cons: No 3 1/2" desktop cradle, and no Newegg prompt to add to purchase...! For this price, they should include one!

Overall Review: CCleaner has a default option set called "Wipe Free Space", that ruins a SSD drive (too many writes). It takes "hours" to complete on the Raptor, with No performance improvement- "The wipe free space option creates a Huge file that takes up all your space, then it deletes this huge file, in turn overwriting all deleted information so it is, in theory, unrecoverable. It can take a substantial amount of time".

Samsung HD502HJ HD, has a low hum!

SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD502HJ/ST500DM005 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD502HJ/ST500DM005 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Low price. As slave HD- Transfers data faster than my old LOUD 32mb WD 640gig.

Cons: It has a "low" pulsing hum (1sec)- that is VERY Irritating to me! If you read enough user reviews- others also mention this Samsung HD hum!

Overall Review: I HAPPILY use a single WD Raptor 10k rpm HD for my C: System drive (WOW!- FAST!)- Blows a single 7200rpm drive out-of-the-water! I just do normal computing, and don't want to mess with RAID! I'm buying a new custom ZT Affinity core i7-2600 desktop, and hope the WD HD's are Silent!?

WOW!- SB6120 on a Docis 2.0 ISP!?

MOTOROLA SB6120 Cable Modem SURFboard eXtreme 160Mbps in DOCSIS mode and 195Mbps in EuroDOCSIS mode Ethernet Port DOCSIS 3.0
MOTOROLA SB6120 Cable Modem SURFboard eXtreme 160Mbps in DOCSIS mode and 195Mbps in EuroDOCSIS mode Ethernet Port DOCSIS 3.0

Pros: My Bresnan ISP advertises 8mbps download, and 400kbps upload on a Docis 2.0 system. MUCH faster since upgrading from Docis 1.0! I Was renting a Ubee Docis 2.0 modem, and it was doing a BLAZING 81Mbps down, and 365kbps up. WOW!- I "Upgraded" to the SB6120? Speeds jumped to 131Mbps down, and 395kbps up! This is with my Antivir AV active! HUGE files download in less than 10sec! #s are Not typos, and all 3 test averages (from 100mi away)!

Cons: Minor- had to power off 15sec, after Mac ID entered before IE8 would recognize it. Couple of minutes before all lights came on/solid. Not All ISP's will support this modem~!- Call them before buying!?

Overall Review: Hmmm?- I like owning my own Modem, and it will "only" take 3ys of "no rental fees" to pay for the 6120 (sure glad it's faster!). I bought Newegg's 2yr extended replacement warranty (3yr total)?- This is a fairly New model with No track longevity record?

Kingston ram would not work on Sony Vaio

Kingston ValueRAM 1GB (2 x 512MB) DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model KVR533D2N4K2/1G
Kingston ValueRAM 1GB (2 x 512MB) DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model KVR533D2N4K2/1G

Pros: Price

Cons: DOA?-My Sony Vaio would not recognize this ram, and I couldn't even get to F2 (bios info) Now I will see how Newegg Returns does?

Overall Review: UPS NOTE!-delivery was on time, as usual!-I have a signature on file with them- so left on porch(low crime neighbourhood!
