Fantastic unit

Pros: I love this water filter system. It is very high quality. It makes a big difference to the taste of my water. Installation of the system was easy, the only difficulty being the crawling around under the sink (I'm on the bigger side...) The hookup connections are very cool. Most of them are simply inserting PEX tubing into self-sealing connectors. I went with this larger unit over smaller ones because I enjoy cooking. It is just me and two small dogs, so I could have gone with one half this size. I have been able to do a lot more cooking, and with fresh, clean water.
Cons: This unit is fairly large. You should double-check your install location.
Overall Review: I haven't tried it without the PH alkaline mineral stage. It might not be needed. Water tastes great, though. Wish I would have simply removed my garbage disposal before doing the installation. I spent a lot of time trying to access a couple hard to reach things.
Maybe they have fixed the bios/manufacturing

Pros: I've been struggling with four of these drives for about six months in RAID configurations using a 3ware 9650SE-8 card. All the drives have the SD13 bios. These should work fine for 2-drive RAID 0/1 systems. The Seagate website now lists these drives as okay for "Desktop RAID 1 or 0 systems (<3 drives in one system)" . But you really need to take care when using more than 2 drives.
Cons: One of the drives timed out several times a day. Luckily I was in RAID 5, and using Vista 64, so my OS was stable, but slow (50MB/s read, 150MB/s write) I upgraded to Western Digital RS3 500GB drives, configured in RAID 5, now performance is 2-5x better. I ran Iometer individually on these drives and performance was acceptable (~90-110MB/s read/write). Then I tried doing 3-drive RAID 5 using these 7200.11's and was still getting 50MB/s reads. So I configured them as 3-drive RAID 0 and now get 330Mb/s read, 150MB/s write which is fine. I'm RMA'ing the dead-ish one. I may try updating the bios.
Overall Review: Iometer settings: version: 2008.06.18-RC2 outstanding IO: 256 Access: 32K read, 32K write
Good product, weak power connector

Pros: Card is reliable. Performance seems adequate, though I've never tried to measure it.
Cons: The power connector is not connected to the board well mechanically. Mine was loose, being held together only by the wires and solder. The tabs that should bind the connector to the board are loose or easily unseated. So now I am cautious about moving any cables around inside my case to keep the connector from detaching and possibly shorting.
Overall Review: Be careful when installing.
computer will not boot

Pros: Extra buttons. Cool packaging.
Cons: Doesn't work. My computer will not boot with this mouse.
Overall Review: I'm not a gamer. I am switching from a trackball to a mouse. I thought the gaming mice would be a good option since they have programmable buttons. I do some video editing and thought it would be handy having some programmable buttons on the mouse. In a very rare moment of pre-Internet consumerism for me, I purchased this mouse without doing any research. Not sure if that would have helped, though, as reviews seem to generally be positive. Unfortunately, some of these reviews give it a higher rating than deserved even while noting the mouse's propensity to blue screen or cause your system not to boot. So my problem: computer will not boot with this mouse plugged in. I tried two different USB hubs and direct to the motherboard. The only way to get the computer to make it past POST is to unplug the mouse. That is not the way I roll. I even upgraded the firmware on the mouse. My GIGABYTE GA-EP45-DQ6 motherboard has the latest BIOS.
Works well

Pros: Quality memory sticks. Work well in my new micro-ATX server motherboard.
Cons: None
Overall Review: Using this in a SUPERMICRO MBD-X7SPE-HF-D525-O Proprietary Intel Atom D525 Server Motherboard
Works like a champ!

Pros: I've been intriqued by the Intel Atom for a couple years, both as an HTPC and as a NAS/server platform. I finally broke down and built up an Ubuntu Server 10.04 LTS for backups and fileserving for my Windows and Macintosh network using this motherboard. Ubuntu installed like a charm, everything identified and configured. I thought the IPMI would be interesting, but have not played with it yet. I have not configured any RAID volumes. I haven't settled on a specific backup/archive/fileserver strategy yet. But I really like the flexibility of having 6 SATA ports. Excellent Supermicro quality, components, layout. Using the laptop SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 memory is just cool, and fast! Two gigabit ethernet ports! I have them both going into the same switch. Don't know if this helps or hurts, but seems cool.
Cons: Price is a bit high, but you get an enterprise quality motherboard. And you have the ability to put together a small SOHO server/NAS for about the same price as a much less endowed turnkey system. Mind the proprietary form factor.
Overall Review: Thank you Neweggers for buying so much stuff! I almost went with a Newegg combo system based on an Atom D510/DDR2 800 motherboard, but the combo case was sold out by the time I went to hit the "Send It to My House" button. After the initial frustration of losing my system, I did a little research and ended up with this newer, faster system.
