2.4Ghz out the Box and 2.6Ghz stable, beats the hell out of the FX55 for 1/11 the price!
Pros: Best overclocker so far with stock fan and VCORE, but a good motherboard, memory and PSU has a lot to do with an stable and highly overcloked system.
Cons: Small cache, but doesn't affect the performace, maybe during gaming.
Overall Review: Never had much luck with AMD before until now. I bought the combo deal from Newegg(Sempron 64 2600 + Biostar TForce6100) thinking of adding a cheap Linux 86_64 to my home LAN but after teaking with it for while I realized than this combo was running faster than my Dell's Intel 2.8E CPU with little effort I got 2.4Ghz out the box, after replacing the memory and raising the VCORE 1.5v and DDR 2.8v it's running stable at 2.6Ghz 35C@Iddle 48C@Full Throtle. Hurry and get this combo while it last, you won't regret it.
Rosewill Cases look good in pictures, but are something else in real life.
Pros: Got this case to replace a 4+ years old Cooler Master Storm Scout. I wanted a case with USB 3.0, HDD docking and fan controls which the CM lacks. This one seems to fit my needs and from the pictures it looks like a nice case, also has plenty of fans and 8 internal 3.5" HDD mounting spaces (Good for a storage server), cable management is also a plus, removable filters galore. Overall it's full of features and seems like a good deal.
Cons: Like my title says, these cases look very good in pictures but once you start to put it together then you realize the poor quality and lack of attention to some major flaws in the design. The sheet of metal is very thin, plastic is also on the cheap side, I was lucky that UPS didn't damaged the package since it weights so little. Let me start with one of the problems that took the most amount of time to resolve, I tried to install a card reader on the 5.25" to 3.5" adapter, but there was no easy way to do it and I end up opening some holes the adapter to make the card reader fit. The power LED is a super bright blue and at night it works like flash light (joke), end up covering this LED with tape. Screws are very easy "to screw them up" so be careful and don't put to much pressure on them. The HDD docking is a joke, if you place an 2.5" drive in, it's very difficult to remove it, and eject bottom or release latch would have help.
Overall Review: This case is not worth the $80 MSRP or the $60 I paid for it, it's more like on the $30 - $40 range. Rosewill is very innovative but should put more attention to detail than features and the quality of their products. I don't think this case is going to last over a year, specially in my situation in which I'm always swapping hardware back and forth. On the flip side, no buyer's remorse or satisfaction warranty when you buy from Newegg, if you don't like a product you either keep it or pay shipping/re-stocking fees.
Good product, Terrible company to deal with
Pros: Works as described, mainly used the eSATA port for imaging drives and zero-fill format.
Cons: My $12 rebate was denied for no apparent reason, I filed the rebate claim on time, everything was in order and complete but they still refuse to acknowledge. Contacted both 4myrebate.com and Thermaltake and they both refused to help me. I'll make sure to never purchase or recommend another Thermaltake product in the future.
Overall Review: Thanks to Newegg for their 5 stars customer support they issued a $12 gift card, although the rebate company and Thermaltake are the ones responsible for paying their customer.
Great deal for great video card
Pros: One of the best deal I had for the past few years, for the price paid after rebate there's nothing out there that can beat it. Works better and performs higher than the EVGA GTS450 that I purchased around the same time. (Sold the EVGA and kept this XFX) Also the colors look much better on the XFX than on the EVGA.
Cons: The fan is a bit loud and there's no heat sink on the memory chips.
Overall Review: I'm not a fan of ATI video cards but XFX seems to have better QC than other vendors, and this card works flawlessly so far, highly recommended.
Good Price, Poor Design (Ventilation)
Pros: Good price, plenty of space for internal HDDs. It feels strong and looks good, will be using on a WHS or FreeNAS project.
Cons: Was very disappointed when I received the case and noticed that the front cover is sealed and doesn't have a ventilation grill like in shows on the pictures, an eye candy design that doesn't do anything for the case. Don't bother placing the front fan on this case.
Overall Review: Hopefully the system won't be overheating once is fully functional, will place a 120mm fan on the side to help the airflow.
Good Price, Poor Design (Ventilation)
Pros: Price after rebate makes it very attractive, but don't be fooled read the Cons.
Cons: This case has very poor ventilation, even with 120mm fans in both opening my CPU and HDD are overheating, the top cover is to blame because only has one opening for the PSU when it should have at least 1 more in top of the CPU. The paint scratches easily and it's a fingerprint magnet, power LED is more like a flashlight LED, must remain disconnected. It's too long/deep to place inside a cabinet, so it doesn't really qualifies as a HTPC case.
Overall Review: No problems with the PSU so far, but again I hardly use my HTPC due to the overheating. Don't know why Apevia do something about the top cover design, since this case has been selling for over a year here at Newegg.
