Great so far!
Pros: Very powerful and looks great in my case. Has pretty blue lights. The cables are removable, so you can use only what you need.
Cons: Cables are hard to install after the unit has been installed into the case. Unit is expensive.
Overall Review: Install the cables before you insert into your case.
Card was defective or incompatible.
Pros: Very affordable card with lots of RAM and supports pci express 3.0. Drivers were easy to install, although I had trouble reading the screen as it was very blocky because the card was defective.
Cons: Card was defective out of the box. Bad, blocky display using any of the three outputs and multiple monitors. It may be a nice card, I have no way to know since I had to return it.
Overall Review: The new motherboard came with built in video so I am using it for now. It looks great and works fine with Windows 7 64-bit. I disabled the built-in video and the card still was blocky. I tried it in 3 different pci express slots, so I am assuming it was defective. I tried my older geforce card and it worked fine as well, just is not a powerful card for todays games. Newegg customer service was helpful in getting a return going.
Worth the Extra Money
Pros: Ok, this is not a bad investment for the money if you want a Recorder. To start with, it can play DVDs at up to 1080i if they are recorded that way. It records on all DVD formats, including Dual Layer disks and RAM disks. It has several record modes so you can do up to 12 hours recording on a dual layer disk! It has multiple inputs, including cable and firewire. I have yet to make a coaster and I record on DVD+RW disks and DVD-R disks mainly. The remote is nice and it allows for easy timer recording.
Cons: As a stand alone player, the unit is lacking in some basics. To fast forward through a large chapter takes forever. Because of this problem, I play most of the recordings I make on my dedicated DVD player. If you do not have a second player, you may not want a cheaper recorder like this as it can be frustrating if you have a lot of material to fast forward through.
Overall Review: This is a great recorder, and an ok player with the exception of being able to watch retail movies in up to 1080i definition. To avoid frustration though, make sure you have a seperate stand alone DVD player for those recordings that need to be fast forwarded through. The system has to be setup before you get all the features: you have to manually set the output resolution to support 1080i; you have to turn on progressive scan; you have to enable chaptering so that your recordings include chapters - otherwise you have 1 big chapter! Bottom line, if you want an affordable recorder that supports all DVD formats and upscales DVD to boot, then this is the unit for you.
Bought 2 Kits
Pros: Affordable and compatible with my Core 2 Duo 2.4 Processor. Nice packaging, good looking heat shield and I didn't damage it when installing, like some of the other reviewers. I bought one pack and then added another pack once my system was running, giving me 2 gigs Works great on my 200+ dollar Gigabyte motherboard.
Cons: My board only holds four of these :(
Overall Review: I don't overclock but supposedly you can ... my system is too fast already for that foolishness.
Excellent!
Pros: Great price and fast shipping! This is the cream for 7600GT models with 256 memory and an overclocked core. I downloaded the newest drivers before installing it and never used the driver disk. Purchased this along with a Samsung 204B 20 inch LCD and I am in love. Day of Defeat, Doom 3, Lego Star Wars, etc... look and play sooooooo good. I can actually get head shots now!!!
Cons: Package omitted the Hi-Def cable adapter...Newegg quickly sent me mine after a friendly email asking what I needed to do.
Overall Review: For the money, this was an easy choice. It runs quietly, my entire PC is quiet and it is driving me crazy! The fan is doing its job and I ordered a second one today for SLI mode...might as well put something in the open pci x16 slot, right?
Works for me
Pros: This is my second Audigy card in 5 years. The sound quality is excellent and it works with my older 5.1 Creative Speakers and Sub.
Cons: PCI interface makes me waste a pci slot that I could use on something else. Drivers are tricky at times as my first install gave me some noise when running multiple audio sources at the same time. A reinstall from the web over the cd driver installation seems to have corrected it.
Overall Review: I run Day of Defeat and other games with much enjoyment now. Sound Blaster has been my choice card since 1990, and the Audigy series does not dissapoint.
Needed identical replacement Motherboard for a 2 year old MSI 7th Gen Intel CPU Board
Package was perfect. All items were present in the box and it worked great. I insured this board with the 3 year protection plan (my first MSI died suddenly with no warning after just 2 years). Super fast shipping was awesome. Thank you!
